TELEVISION Mode

0-9 Digit buttons

With the remote conirol transmitter you can
select channels by pressing the 0-9 digit but-
tons. First, select one digit or two digits using
the single/double entry —/-- button. Then
oo the programme channel numbers (1 to
99).

"Operation of Manual Controls."

While watching Pr 10, press the flashback
( SS ) button to return to Pr 4. Press the but-
ton again to resume watching Pr 10.
Note:

during
programme channel selection.

Press the A button to increase the volume,
and the V button to decrease it. The on-
=i when the volume is adjusted on the
set.

¢ When this button is pressed, the sound is
muted.

A symbol that looks like «X appears in the
upper left corner of the screen.

Sound Tone Control $ / 9:
This set is equiped with three audio tone
control buttons ( §: treble and
9? bass).
Adjust them to your liking.
The same indication appears when the tre-
ble or bass button are pressed.

Press the balance control buttons to balance
the sound from the left and right speakers.

Sound normal button N
To resetthe balance, treble, bass and woofer
back to their normal levels, press the normal
button.
lf the sound normal button is pressed within
3 seconds of pressing the balance, treble,
bass buttons the above indication appears.
If pressed after 3 seconds, no indication
appears.

If you wish to switch a bilingual programme
from the main audio channel (indicated by
"MAIN" (red) in the upper left corner of the
screen) to the sub-channel, press this button
once.
The audio
channel
indicator will
change to "SUB" (red), and you will hear the
sub-channel sound from both speakers. If
you wish to listen to both the main and sub-
channels at the same time, press the button
again. The audio channel
indicator will
change to "MAIN+SUB" (red) and you will
hear the main channel sound from the left
speaker and sub-channel sound from the
right speaker. To switch back to the main au-
dio channel, press the button a third time.
Note:

if you press the sound mode button when
receiving a stereo program, the button acts
just like the mono button and puts the audio
channels into Mono mode. The "MONO" in-
dicator (yellow) appears on the screen.
Mono button V
If your stereo programme suffers from an-
noying noise and the on-screen "STEREO"
indicator flashes press this button to change
the audio channel to Mono mode — the
"MONO" indicator (red) on the TV set will
light andthe on-screen "STEREO" will go
off. To switch the mode back to Stereo, press
this button again.
Note:
lf you press the mono button when receiving a
bilingual programme, the audio channel is
switched to the main channel. The "MONO"
indicator (red) on the TV set will light and the
"MAIN", "SUB", or "MAIN+SUB"
on the
screen will go off. To switch back the audio
channel into the original mode, press the but-
ton again. (The built-in stereo decoder uses
the West German system.)
Contrast

Press the contrast button (A) to increase pic-
ture contrast. Press the (\/} button to reduce
it.
Incorrectly adjusted picture contrast may
cause eyestrain.

Press the colour button (V/) so the picture
changes to black and white, then press the
(/\) button to get the best "natural colour".
If you cannot obtain natural colour, readjust
the preset tuning control.
Brightness Vv tA
Press the brightness bution (A) to increase
the brightness of the picture. Press the but-
ton (V)} to reduce it. For best reception, ad-
{ust the picture brightness according to room
ight.

colour, or the brightness button is pressed.

For resetting the colour, contrast and bright-
ness back to their normal levels, press the
N(Normal) button.
lf the picture normal button is pressed within
3 seconds of pressing the contrast, colour or
brightness button, 'the above indication ap-
pears. If pressed after 3 seconds, no indica-
tion appears.
Of f-Timer button
The off-timer function switches the set auto-
matically into standby after a predetermined
period.

120, 90, 60 and 30-minute Off-timer settings
are possible with this timer button. For exam-
ple, if the timer button is pressed for the first
time while receiving channel programme
number 14, the 120-minute timer is set and
120M Pri4/CH21" is displayed for ap-
proximately 3 seconds.
The second press sets the 90-minute timer
and "E) 90M Pri4/CH21" is displayed.
The third press sets the 60-minute timer and
"@)
60M Prt4/CH21" is displayed.
The fourth press sets the 30-minute timer
and * 2] 30M Pri4/CH21" is displayed.
When the timer bution is pressed for the fifth
time, the timer is cancelled and nothing is
displayed on the screen.
Notes:
|
1. After the timer is set, the remaining time is
displayed on the screen at five minute in-
tervals. If you want to check the remaining
time, press the channel/timer call button.
Five seconds before going off, the screen
flashes "@} OM Pri4/CH21'' every other.

It is recommended that the set be switched
off manually using the main power on/off
switch, if it is to be left unattended for long
periods of time.
