5.4 Serial Operation of DC Voltage Outputs

Up to three units can be switched in serial. The
Official Legalized Regulation regarding excessive
touch voltage must be considered. The current
limitation must be individually set to the desired
value for each unit.

5.5 Protection against external Excess-Voltages

For critical applications whereby voltage peaks may be
generated by the connected load (e.g. by means of
inductance), the power supply output may be protected
using a protective circuitry, following the example enclosed.
The components (diode, varistor, and capacitor) are to be
selected in compliance with the maximum occurring values.

5.6 External Voltage Measurement

• Switch on the Laboratory Power Supply with main
switch (6).
• Turn measuring range switch (5) to position "Uext ".
When measuring input is open, a jumping of digital
display (3) can be possible.

• A DC voltage between -9.9 V bis +99.9 V can be
connected and measured at inputs (18) und (17).
The external DC voltage present must not exceed
maximum values of -10 V or +100 V.
When "EEE" appears on the display, the voltage present
is higher than +99.9 V
When "---"appears on the display, the voltage present is
lower than -9.9 V

5.7 Constant Voltage Output

• Mains switch (6) to on
• Put range switch (5) to voltage ±12 V or ±15 V.
• Connect load to GND (16) and to the output (7), (11),
(13) or (15).
In case of overload or current limit the red LED
disappears.

5.8 Fine Adjustment Lock (Option F)

When connecting extremely sensitive loads (e.g. at 5 V
supply voltages, TTL, etc.), the pre-set value should be
protected against involuntary modification, for example, by
selecting the option fine adjustment lock.

5.9 Analogue Control Input (Option A)

The analogue control input offers the possibility of default
setting the setpoint for output current and output voltage of
the power supply by an external DC voltage from 0 to +10 V
(= 0...100 %). The signal may be generated by analogue or
digital external potentiometers or signal generators.
