correct polarity for the connection has to be
ensured!
Cooling of high-level transistors via cooling unit can
only function correctly, if it is not covered or blocked.
When setting-up the power supply, a perfect venting
of the cooling unit has to be ensured, i.e. the
instrument rear may not be installed to the wall and
the instrument may not be used as place of deposit.
Failure to comply with these prescriptions can lead
to an irreparable thermal instrument collapse.
5.1 Operating Mode Constant Voltage with
Maximum Current Setting
• Switch on the Laboratory Power Supply with main
switch (6).
• Turn current and voltage set potentiometers (4) and (1)
to max. left travel.
• Set output voltage of 2 V approx. via voltage set
potentiometer (1)
• Turn measuring range switch (5) to position "IA".
• Short-circuit red output +Ua (22) with blue output -Ua
(19)
– Red LED "Current Limit" (21) is illuminated.
• Set desired current value i.e. 2 A via the current set
potentiometer (4).
• Remove short-circuit connection between both output
(19) and (22)
– Red LED "Current Limit" (21) disappears.
• Turn measuring range switch (5) to position "U".
• Set desired voltage value i.e. 12 V via the voltage set
potentiometer (1).
• According to example, there are +12 V present at red
output +Ua (22) with reference to the blue output -Ua
(19).
• Connect load.
• Red LED "current limit" (21) indicated excess of pre-set
maximum current and the power supply does not work
in constant voltage operation any more, i.e. the voltage
automatically sets itself with respect to the connected
load resistance.
5.2 Operating Mode Constant Current with
Maximum Voltage Setting
• Switch on the Laboratory Power Supply with main
switch (6).
• Turn current and voltage set potentiometers (4) and (1)
to max. left travel.
• Turn measuring range switch (5) to position "U".
• Set desired maximum output voltage (burden voltage)
with the voltage set potentiometer (1).
• Turn measuring range switch (5) to position "ImA".
• Connect load and set the desired current.
• Red LED "Current Limit" (21) shows the constant
current operation.
When exceeding the output current of 1A (display
indicates "EEE"), selct range "IA" with the
measuring range switch (5).
5.3 Parallel Operation of DC Voltage
Outputs
The following has to be considered: Before
connecting the output clamps, both power supplies
must be set as accurately as possible to the same
output voltage, so that the load current is
distributed equally among both units. The
connection leads should be as short as possible with
the respective cross section in order to maintain
asymmetries in the load division as low as possible.
