4. Protections
PV Short Circuit: In case of a short circuit on the module the charging process will be stopped
automatically.
PV Reverse Polarity: Full protection from reverse polarity on modules and battery. Make sure
the wiring is done correctly to ensure a proper operation.
CAUTION: Risk of electric shock!
Battery Overvoltage: If the battery voltage exceeds a certain value the charging process is
stopped to keep the battery from being damaged.
Battery Undervoltage (risk of deep discharge): If the battery voltage drops under a certain
value the controller disconnects from the battery to avoid deep discharge.
Battery Overheating: (External temperature sensor needed)
If the battery temperature exceeds 65°C the charging process is stopped automatically. The
controller proceeds after a cool down to 50°C.
Load Overload: If the load current is 1.05 times higher than the load output's rated current the
load will be disconnected. In this case the load must be reduced, and the controller needs to be
restarted. If the fault still occurs after 5 restarts, please reduce the load again and confirm via
the SET button. Restart the controller again or wait for the night-day-cycle (> 3hrs during the
night).
Load Output Short Circuit: In case of a load short circuit clear the fault and restart the
controller.
Damaged Temperature Sensor: In case of a damaged temperature sensor the controller will
proceed charging with an estimated default temperature of 25°.
Charge Controller Overheating: If the charge controller exceeds a temperature of 85°C it shuts
down automatically and restarts after a cool down to 75°C.
