ANALOG OPERATION

Installation
Use the cable with wide phone-style
connectors (8/8, included) to con-
nect the socket on the Wireless
Receiver marked "51070" with the
socket on the 51070 marked
"55055" (Fig. 4). Plug the antenna
(included) into the hole in the top of
the Wireless Receiver. Position the
Wireless Receiver to ensure that
your entire layout is within the range
of the Wireless Transmitter/Wireless
Receiver (see Range).
Caution! Do not connect the phone-
style connectors of LGB products to
your phone system. The LGB prod-
uct will be destroyed!
Range
The range of the Wireless Transmit-
ter is approximately 15 to 20 m (50
to 65 ft). External factors, such as
other transmitters using the same
frequency (e.g., wireless thermome-
ters), objects between Wireless
Transmitter and Wireless Receiver
and walls that reflect the radio waves
can decrease the range.
On large layouts, we recommend
placing the Wireless Receiver in the
center of the layout at eye level. The
best position can be found through
trial and error. You can extend the
cable between the Wireless Receiver
and the 55110 using a phone cable
and a phone-style plug (6/4) up to a
distance of 30 m (100 ft).
Hint: If the Wireless Receiver is
placed outdoors, it must be protect-
ed from moisture. For example, you
can install the receiver in a tightly
sealed structure, like a model build-
ing.
If your layout does not respond to
control inputs from your remote, it is
likely that you have exceeded the

range. Decrease the distance between
remote and Wireless Receiver (not
between remote and locomotive) and
re-send the control inputs.
Hint: If the range is not sufficient,
you can subdivide your layout into
several "track blocks," each with a
separate Wireless Receiver, throttle
and transformer (see Program the
number of the connected track
block). Place the Wireless Receiver
for each track block in the center of
this block (Fig. 1).
Attention! Wireless transmission of
data never can be secure. If you are
outside the range of the receiver,
your layout will not respond to con-
trol inputs (such as "Emergency
Stop").
Program the number of the
connected track block
- You can use
55055/55056 Wireless Receivers
with eight 51070 Electronic Throt-
tles and eight transformers on your
layout. This allows you to control
up to eight separately powered
track blocks from one remote. You
can use up to eight remotes to con-
trol the individual track blocks.
- Each track block is assigned a num-
ber, which is programmed at the
respective Wireless
Select this number on the remote
to control the connected track
block.
- To program the track block number:
1. Disconnect the wires from the
Wireless Receiver to the 51070.
2. Remove the four screws on the
bottom of the housing. Open the
housing and set the DIP switches
for the track block according to
the code in the table (Fig. 5).
3. Close the housing.
4. Connect the cables for normal
operation.
