dAngER
because there is a large amount of current flowing though the
AIREA-nEt outputs, cabling changes should only be made when the
AIREA mAstER is switched off.
Connecting an AIREA end device to an active AIREA-nEt output could
result in damage to both the connectors and the cable due to high cur-
rent.
The pin configurations for AIREA-nEt connectors can be found in
Chapter 8.
cAutIOn
to avoid "pops" when powering up, always plug cables into devices
when they are switched off. then power up the signal chain from its
start (microphones etc) through to its end (amplifiers/loudspeakers).
reverse the process when switching off.

3.5 FunctIOnAl dEscRIptIOn

The ABx-4 is a high quality breakout box. It is equipped
with an AIREA-nEt input (RJ-45 input connector) for use in
an AIREA network. This input splits the AES/EBU signal into
separate digital audio- and control signals.
The digital audio signals are transmitted from a balanced
digital audio output (using male XLR-connectors).
Control signals are transmitted from a separate FOhhn-
nEt output (RJ-45 socket).
Because the ABx-4 is a passive breakout box, no mains
voltage can be supplied via the AIREA-NET input.
AIREA loudspeakers cannot be connected to the AIREA-
nEt input.
