Operating Instructions
Flush-mounted high-frequency motion detector
Item No. 2108038
Intended Use
The product is intended to be used as wall mounted
motion detector, and detects movement within the
detection range. It uses high-frequency technology
which works through doors, glass, and thin walls.
The motion detector can be used, for example, to
control a light or another powered device. Observe
the maximum connected load in the chapter
"Technical Data".
The motion detector is only intended for use in dry,
closed interiors, it must not get damp or wet.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not
rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the
product for purposes other than those described
above, the product may be damaged. In addition,
improper use can result in short circuits, fires, electric
shocks or other hazards. Read the instructions
carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this
product available to third parties only together with
its operating instructions.
This product complies with the statutory national and
European requirements. All company names and

Explanation of Symbols
The symbol with the lightning in the
triangle is used if there is a risk to your
health, e.g. due to an electric shock.
The symbol with the exclamation
mark in the triangle is used to indicate
important
information
in
operating instructions. Always read this
information carefully.
The arrow symbol indicates special
information and advice on operation.
This is a safety class II product.
The product is only intended to be
installed and used in dry, indoor rooms;
it must not get damp or wet.
Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions
carefully and especially observe
the safety information. If you do not
follow the safety instructions and
information on proper handling in
this manual, we assume no liability
for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will
invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
a) General Information
The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach
of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around
carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
Protect
the
appliance
from
temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, steam and
solvents.
Do not place the product under any mechanical
stress.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product
safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer
be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor
ambient conditions or
- has
been
subjected
transport-related stresses.
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts,
impacts or a fall even from a low height can
damage the product.
Consult an expert when in doubt about the
operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs must
only be completed by a technician or an
authorised repair centre.
If you have questions which remain unanswered
by these operating instructions, contact our
technical support service or other technical
personnel.
b) Electrical Connection
If you do not have the expertise required for the
installation, do not connect and install it yourself.
Ask a qualified technician.
The product may only run on the correct mains
voltage (see section "Technical data").
Do not use the product in rooms with adverse
environmental conditions, where combustible
gases, vapours or dust are or may be present!
There is a risk of explosion!
If it can be assumed that safe operation is no
longer possible, the product must be turned off
and precautions must be taken to ensure that it
is not used unintentionally. After this, arrange for
an expert to check the product.
In
commercial
institutions,
prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability
Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and
Operating Facilities are to be observed!
By handling mains voltage improperly, you
endanger not only yourself but also others!
these
c) Location
If there are metal objects behind/below the
mounting location (e.g. steel beams, plates or
similar), the motion detector will not function
properly. The flow in water or sewage pipes may
also trigger a switching process.
If you plan to mount several motion detectors,
they must have a minimum distance of 2 m from
each other.
Do not position the device near sources of
heat. For example, hot ventilation ducts, air
conditioning units, or lamps.
When drilling or tightening screws, make sure
there are no cables, wires or pipes located
underneath the surface. Inadvertently drilling
through electric cables can cause life-threatening
danger of an electric shock!
d) Installation
The motion detector must be installed only when
it is voltage-free. It is not sufficient to simply turn
the light switch off!
First, switch off all poles of the mains supply
by removing the fuse or switching off at the
circuit breaker, also switch off the associated
residual current circuit breaker. Secure it against
unauthorised reconnection, e.g., with a danger
sign.
Check that the mains cable is free of current, e.g.
with an appropriate tester.
extreme
Installation of the product must be carried out by
a qualified professional (i.e. an electrician) who is
familiar with all applicable regulations!
Include a 6A
safety device when installing the
microwave sensor, for example, fuse, safe tube
etc.
Always make sure that the product is mounted
outside the reach of children.

Functional Description
The motion detector sends signals in the 5.8 GHz range (similar to radar). These signals are reflected back to
the sensor. The integrated electronic system evaluates the received signals and if there is movement within
the detection range the motion detector will activate.
The range for detecting motion is determined by several factors:
Mounting height.
The recommended installation height range is 1 - 1.8 m
The size of the object.
Motion detection sensitivity setting SENS (5).
The distance of the object to the motion detector.
The detection range is 5 -15 m (adjustable).
Speed of movement.
Metal and glass objects in the vicinity of the motion detector.
The detection angle is 180°.
If the product switches incorrectly, adjust the range using the rotary
switch SENS (5)
Installation
Contact a qualified technician if in doubt about how to connect the motion detector to a
consumer. For example, to control a light or another powered device
the
accident
a) Prepare a Mounting Option
For sensor dimensions, see section "Technical Data, b) Dimension Drawing".
Quadrate Mount
Remove the bracket expanding screws (3) and mounting brackets (8), as they will not be needed.
Attach the sensor to the outlet box using screws through the mounting holes (7).
Circular Mount
Loosen the bracket expanding screws (3) so the mounting brackets (8) are against the sensor as in
(step A).
Insert the motion detector into the outlet tube.
Tighten the bracket expanding screws (3) to wedge the mounting brackets (8) against the tube wall
(step B).
