6. Operation
6.1. Switching the device on/off
Press the key to switch on the device. The display
lights up.
Press the key again to switch off the device. The
display shows and then switches to standby.
The heating indicator
heating up. As soon as the desired temperature has
stabilised, it switches itself on or off, depending on
heating requirements.
NOTE
The display switches to standby automatically after
10 s. The device continues operating.
NOTE
Any settings that have been configured will remain
applied even if the power supply is interrupted.
6.2. Manual operation
Press the key to switch between the manual oper-
ating modes:
Comfort

ECO

Frost protection

6.3. Setting the Comfort temperature
Use the + or – keys to increase or reduce the Comfort
temperature as required.
In Comfort mode, the temperature can be adjusted
based on use by means of the energy efficiency indi-
cator.
6.4. Setting the ECO temperature
Press the key again until ECO is displayed. Briefly
press the + or – keys to display the temperature.
Press the key for 3 s, until the ECO temperature
flashes. Use the + or – keys to increase or reduce the
temperature. Press the

ECO mode is recommended for maximum savings
during a short absence (less than 24 hours). Lower the
room temperature by around 3.5 °C below the Com-
fort temperature.
The maximum temperature that can be set for the
ECO temperature is 19 °C.

6.5. Automatic operation
Mode for planning your heating times and heating
temperatures: Programming the Comfort and ECO
ranges, preferred set temperature, presence detec-
tion, "Open window" function.
Factory setting: Preferred temperature 19 °C, window
monitoring activated.
For programming see section „6.14. Internal program-
ming".
6.6. Frost protection mode
Press the key again until
mode is displayed.
For maximum savings during a long absence (longer
than 24 hours) to keep the room frost-free.
6.7. Window monitoring
For activation of window monitoring see section
„6.13. Setting other functions".
The device switches off as soon as the room temper-
ature drops sharply, e.g. due to an open window or an
open door. The
signal sounds.
Press the key to switch back to normal heating
mode.
6.8. Presence detection
In automatic mode, the device detects whether a per-
son is in the room. The set comfort temperature re-
mains active for as long as a person is detected. If the
room is not in use for a lengthy period, the tempera-
ture is lowered gradually to save energy:
When the device detects that a person is present in
the room, it reverts to the set operating mode.
