M A I N T E N A N C E
6.1
GENERAL
It is recommended to check the instrument from time to time for proper
functioning. In case of a fault
- check the connections for loose contacts,
- check fuses and replace them if necessary,
- check the mechanical arrangement of the scale,
- check zero point and linearity (see also paras. 5.6.2 and 5.6.3).
In doing so, the safety regulations in para. 2. must be observed.
Should the instrument be subject to failure, call your local Customer Support
Organisation of PHILIPS Weighing for assistance.
6.2
DISMOUNTING THE PR 1591/10-DISPLAY UNIT
The display unit of the PR 1591/10 may be replaced without removal of the frame
fitted in the housing cover of the weight transmitter.
After removing the housing cover carefully, disconnect the 3-core connecting
cable between the DVM and the main p.c.b. from the display unit.
By pressing the retaining clamps to one side, the two superposed printed circuit
boards of the unit can be removed from the groove. Proceed very carefully, in
order to prevent damage to the frame or to the LCD-display by pressing
excessively, and note that CMOS components are fitted on the p.c.b.s (see
section 2.3.4 of this manual).
Only the complete display unit can be replaced.
6.3
FUSE
When replacing the fuse, the instrument must be switched off
The instrument is protected by a 80 mA fuse (delayed action) for 220 or 238 V,
or a 160 mA fuse (delayed action) for 110 or 128 V respectively. The fuse is
positioned at the primary side of the instrument (part F 809).
The fuse must only be replaced by a person who is aware of the hazard involved.
Short-circuiting of the fuse is prohibited.
