• allow the appliance to cool on a heat resistant surface.
Never:
• immerse electrical appliances in water or any liquid to protect against
electrical hazards.
• use in a bathroom or near any source of water/liquid.
• use this appliance outdoors.
• use for any other purpose than those described in the instruction.
• carry or suspend the appliance by the mains lead.
• wrap the mains lead around the appliance. Avoid twisting or kinking it.
• use after a malfunction or if damage to the mains lead occurs.
• cover the appliance with anything or place on soft furnishings.
• place the appliance on unprotected polished surfaces.
• leave the product unattended when switched on.
• Note: Currently the filling in a bathroom of an electrical socket for, or
capable of, operating the appliance, is not permitted in the UK (see BS7671).
Nevertheless, E.C. Standard EN60335-2-23 requires us to advise you of the
following: If the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use. The
presence of water presents a hazard even when the appliance is switched off.
For additional protection, you should install a residual current device (RCD)
with a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA, in the electrical
circuit supplying the bathroom. Your electrician will advise you of this.
Warning! These straighteners reach very high temperatures. Do not leave
on your hair for more than a few seconds as this may damage your hair!
• Always avoid plates coming into contact with hands or skin.
• Never cover the unit with anything, such as a towel.
• Never place on a surface that isn't heat resistant and always position out
of reach of children.
• Do not immerse any part of the nit, cord set or plug in water or any other
liquid.
• Switch off and allow to cool fully away from children on a heat resistant
surface before cleaning and storage.
› Cleaning and maintenance
• Unplug the straightener from the supply socket and allow to cool fully
before attempting any cleaning. This appliance reaches very high tempe-
ratures when switched on and will take time to cool down fully. Whilst
cooling place on a heat resistant surface, away from children and in a safe
place. Never cover.
• The casing may then be cleaned by wiping over with a soft damp cloth
(moistened with water only). Dry thoroughly with a soft towel before
re-using.
• Do not use harsh abrasives or cleaners.
• Do not immerse the unit, cord set or plug in water or any other liquid.
