The basic principle for all green smoothies is: 2 to 3 kinds of fruits, 2
salads and 2 types of green leafy vegetables. Note that if too many
ingredients are mixed together, the different flavours will eliminate the
taste of the smoothie.
Leafy vegetables or green plants that can be used for the smoothie:
spinach, kale, cabbage, chard, Chinese cabbage, lamb's lettuce, cress,
celery, turnip leaves, vine leaves, carrot green, chicory, endive salad,
Bok Choy, romaine lettuce, arugula etc.
Chard/Oatmeal Smoothie
2 – 3 leaves of chard, 2 – 3 leaves of baby spinach, 1 handful of oatmeal,
1 banana, 1 apple, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, ½ cup
almond milk
First put the leafy vegetables into the cup; then the fruits, the cinnamon and
the coconut oil. Last fill the cup with the almond milk and mix for approx.
30 seconds. If you want to drink the smoothie cold, put the fruits in the
refrigerator or place them in the freezer for an hour.
Romaine Lettuce/Banana/Pineapple Smoothie
2 cut romaine lettuce hearts, 2 – 3 leaves of baby spinach, 1 cold banana,
½ pineapple, some fresh mint, crushed ice, 1 tablespoon flax or hemp seed
(previously soaked), fill the cup up to the MAX mark with fresh water
Order of ingredients see recipe above. Mix for 30 seconds.
Mango/Melon Smoothie
2 – 3 leaves of baby spinach, 1 ripe mango, watermelon or honeydew
melon to taste, 1 handful of grated coconut, 1 basil leaf, fill the cup up to
the MAX mark with fresh water. Mix for 30 seconds.
Cabbage/Pineapple Smoothie
2 – 3 leaves Chinese cabbage or kale into strips ½ pineapple, fresh mint,
coconut flakes, 1 tablespoon honey, juice of a lemon or lime, cup fill to the
MAX mark with fresh water. Mix for 30 seconds.
