AC OUTLET UNIT
€) Power cord
«PAC OUTLETS
These outlets are used for connecting the power
cords of the amplifier, TV or cassette deck. If the
power cord of the equipment to be connected has a
white mark indicating the polarity, connect the power
cord so that the white mark is on the side of the outiet
with the W.
SWITCHED:
These outlets are controlled by the OUT-
LET CONTROL and the SYSTEM OFF buttons of
the AVH-555ES.
TV: Connect the AC power cord of a V or color
monitor.
AUDIO SOURCE: Connect the AC power cord of
audio equipment such as a cassette deck or
tuner.
AMP: Connect the AC power cord of an amplifier.
UNSWITCHED: These outlets provide power irrespec-
tive of whether the POWER
switch of the AVH-
555ES is ON or OFF. Connect the AC power cord
of a video cassette recorder with a built-in timer,
a CD player, etc.

This button has the same function as the one on the
AVH-555ES except that switching recording/playback
can be done only with the switch on the AVH-555ES.

These buttons have the same functions as those on
the AVH-555ES.
@ Battery compartment
Insert two IEC designation R6 (size AA) batteries.
These buttons have
the same function
as the buttons on
the AVH-555ES.
* Do not remove the screws which attach the remote control cord.

BEFORE CONNECTION
The input/output jacks of the AVH-555ES are phono jack
except the [q remote control connectors. Use the op-
tional connecting cords listed on page 20 to connect
the AVH-555ES to your equipment.
CONNECTING CORD CONNECTION
® Be sure to connect the red plug of the audio connect-
ing cord to the right-channel (R) jack and the white
plug to the !eft-channel (L) jack.

POWER SOURCE CONNECTION
AC OUTLET UNIT
For connection, refer to Fig. [B] on page 4.
The SWITCHED outlets are controlled by the front panel
OUTLET CONTROL and SYSTEM OFF buttons.
The marked plug of the AC power cord of the equipment
to be connected
should be inserted into the negative
terminal of the outlet.
Caution
Do not connect any electrical home appliance such as
an electric iron, fan or other high-wattage equipment to
these outlets.
For the customers supplied with the AC plug adaptor
If the plug of the ac power cord does not match with the
outlet, use the supplied ac plug adaptor.
