Repeat, Random and Scan
If your car radio supports repeat, random and scan, you
may select/deselect Repeat, Random and Scan functions.
Mode indicators are shown on iPod display as follows:
Repeat iPod is set to repeat mode
Repeat One iPod is set to repeat one mode
Shuffle iPod is set to shuffle mode
SCAN
Scan iPod plays 10 sec of a song, than
skip to the next one. Press
revert to normal play
If car radio does not support above features, use the iPod
to set random or repeat mode, before you connect it to the
Gateway 300/400 .
Changing modes on iPod while not connected to the
Gateway 300/400 may not be recognized automatically
by the head unit.
iPod operating modes
Gateway 300/400 has two operating modes connected
to an iPod:
Dension User Interface
(default)
No control on iPod keys
iPod displays song
information (and menu)
Time counter and track
information on radio
ID3 information on radio
(if supported)
Text Display on car
display area (if supported
by the entertainment

Both User Interfaces have their benefits. You can select
either at any time to best fit your application and current
needs. Please see Menu/Access iPod UI
to change the User Interface mode.

Video playback (5 generation iPod only) requires iPod
User interface and not available in the Dension User
Interface mode.
Playback, selection of music
Dension User Interface
For faster selection of music in the Dension User Interface,
the first four playlists (in alphabetical order) may be
activated directly by selecting
playlists with numbers to get them associated with the
desired direct access button, eg. 1Rock, 2Pop, 3Classic,
etc.)
When using more than 4 playlists, please use the playlist
browser function in the Gateway 300/400
You can also choose an album or artist using the browser
in the Menu.
Select Disc#5 to play all titles.
Alternatively you can change to iPod User Interface and
use iPod's ordinary control functions.
iPod User Interface
In this mode original iPod control functions are not
affected, keys and display work as usual.
Additionally to the basic playback controls, the following
extra features are available using the car radio buttons:
