2. SAFETY WARNINGS

2.1. General safety regulations

• Mounting, installation and initial activation of and repairs to electrical devices may only be carried out by qualified electricians. Comply with the
rules and standards applicable to technical installations.
• When positioning bus installations, please observe the general safety regulations for telecommunications equipment in accordance with the
statutory laws, regulations and rules.
ATTENTION!
• Fluids or small electricity-conducting elements seeping into the device might cause a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Ensure the device is
not in contact with water or other fluids. Prevent electricity-conducting elements from getting into the ventilation vent, for example.
• The device generates heat. Ensure proper ventilation. Ventilation vents must not be covered.
2.2. Installation - safety measures
• A decoupler must be readily available to disconnect the device from the mains voltage.
• Protection against overvoltage must already be connected.
• The device must be installed in such a manner that the user cannot immediately access the electronic connection terminal.
• Provide adequate protection against lighting strikes so that the voltage on the a-, b- and P-connections is never above 32 V DC.
• The device falls under overvoltage category II.
