8. Maintenance and care
Cleaning and care
Please note that this high quality product requires care and attention.
The device itself is maintenance-free with the exception of the batteries.
The recommendations and/or regulations of the responsible national institution - in Germany
the Commission for Hospital Hygiene and Infection Prevention (KRINKO) at the Robert Koch
Institute - must be observed in regard to cleaning and disinfection. The requirements in the
institution's hygiene plan must also be fulfilled. The device is only cleaned from the outside.
The device may only be cleaned on the outside. Wipe down the device with a damp cloth
using just water. Remove dried product residue at regular intervals. Use plastic-compatible
disinfectant cloths (wet wipes) to disinfect.
In the event of soiling, carefully clean the lens of the optical fill level sensor with a soft,
damp cloth.
Never dismantle the device for cleaning purposes.

Do not submerge the device in water or expose it to splashes.
•
The device is not autoclavable and must not be cleaned in a dishwasher.
9. Battery
If the red battery LED flashes every 30 seconds, the batteries must be replaced.
Warning
Major hazards may ensue if the batteries are not changed correctly.
This device contains alkaline batteries that cannot be recharged.
•
Never connect this battery to a charger.
•
The battery must not be short circuited.
•
Dispose of discharged batteries at dedicated collection points.
Replacement battery
Only use leak-proof alkaline batteries of the same manufacturer and type and also with
the same charge level. Use only AA batteries.

Battery replacement
1.
Open dispenser with key. Then raise the hood, and swivel it forwards. (See 6. Assembly,
step 1)
2.
Remove battery box from holder and disconnect cable from electronics box. Press the
locking mechanism of the connector to do this (see figures 2.a and 2.b).
3.
Unscrew and open battery box. Replace 4 AA alkaline batteries with new ones.
Observe correct polarity. Close and screw on battery box.

Fit battery box in holder via electronics box (see 6. Assembly, step 8).
5.
Join cables of electronics box to cables of battery box and guide through cable holder
as per diagram (see 6. Assembly, step 9). Close dispenser.
