12.4. Ambient temperatures

The ambient temperature range is given as -10°C ≤ Ta ≤ +70°C in deviation from the
standard temperature range.
12.5. Temperature resistance
Non-metallic housing parts must be resistant to heat and cold in such a way that the de-
gree of protection is not reduced. Plastics must have a temperature index TI correspon-
ding to the 20,000h point that is at least 20K higher than the local maximum surface
temperature, taking into account the maximum ambient temperature. The plastics used
all have a continuous service temperature of at least 100°C and thus meet the require-
ments.
12.6. Maintenance
• The devices must be serviced and cleaned regularly in the Ex area. The intervals are
determined by the operator according to the environmental stresses on site, e.g.
with a dust deposit of about 0.5 - 1 mm.
• Maintenance or repairs may only be carried out by specialist personnel who have
been specially trained or who carry out the replacement of components in accor-
dance with the specifications of the PTM service department.
• Components may only be replaced with original spare parts that are approved for
use in hazardous areas. This also applies to the lubricants and auxiliary materials
used.
• Dust deposits in gaps in moving parts can heat up. It is necessary to regularly clean
the gaps on rotating parts.
• The radial piston motors and gears may only be serviced and cleaned outside of
potentially explosive atmospheres.
12.7. troubleshooting
No changes may be made to devices that are operated in connection with potentially
explosive areas. Repairs to the device that go beyond the replacement of original spare
parts may only be carried out by the manufacturer.
