Microfuse 5x20mm 2Amps. slow
The electronic charge controller is fitted with
a replaceable fuse in the circuit to provide ad-
ditional protection.
The fuse is located in a two piece fuse holder
between the X1 and X2 connections.
To access the fuse, the upper section of the
fuse holder must be removed from its base.
Before changing the fuse the electri-
cal supply to the appliance must be
switched off.

2.3 Regulations and provisions

Take careful note of the enclosure leaflet in
the appliance and accessory pack.
The building and garage regulations of the
country concerned are to be respected.
The surface on which the appliance is set
up must have a sufficient load-carrying ca-
pacity.
In case of doubt, a structural surveyor is to
be consulted (see „Technical Data" for the
weights of the storage heaters).
The minimum interval distances to adjacent
surfaces are to maintained B .
All electrical connection and installation
work is to be carried out in accordance
with VDE specifications (0100), the instruc-
tions issued by the particular electricity
utility company concerned, and the relevant
national and regional regulations.
The appliance must be capable of being
isolated at all poles from the mains network
by means of an additional device with a
circuit sever of at least 3 mm. To do this,
contactors, fuses, and similar elements may
be used.
Any subsequent increase to the connected
load must have repeat approval from the
electricity utility company concerned. If
subsequent increase in connected load is
not notified to the utility company, this will
constitute a breach of the power supply
contracts.
The operating media are to be designed to
match the rated consumption of the appli-
ance.
The appliance type rating plate is to be ob-
served carefully. The voltage indicated must
accord with the mains voltage.
The appliance must be secured in order to
fulfil the VDE (Association of German Elec-
trical Engineers) requirements for stability.

2.4 Place of installation

The appliance must not:
– Be operated in areas which are subject
to the risk of fire or explosion due to
chemicals, dust, gases or vapours;
– Be operated in the immediate vicinity of
pipes or containers which carry or con-
tain combustible or potentially explosive
substances;
– Be operated, at less as the minimum
clearance distances advised.
In workshops or other areas in which the
odour of waste gases, oil, petrol, etc. might
occur, or in which work is carried out in-
volving solvents and chemicals, there is a
risk of sustained odour burdens being en-
gendered, and possibly of dirt contamination
occurring.
Installation wall
A check must be made as to whether an ad-
equately load-bearing securing wall is available
for securing the appliance.
If no suitable securing wall is available, the
device must be secured to the floor (bolted
directly to the floor or secured by means of a
Vario bracket [special accessory]).
Floor
The surface on which the appliance is to be
set up must be even and of sufficient load-
bearing capacity for the housing not to be
moved.
It must be ensured that the securing
wall has a temperature resistance
of at least 85 ºC, and the floor of at least
80 ºC.

2.5 Appliance installation

In order to accord with the VDE requirement
for stability, the heat storage device must be
secured by a wall or floor securing element H .
The screws and dowels required for secur-
ing the appliance do not form part of the
scope of supply. They are to be selected and
obtained by a qualified installer on the basis of
the material of which the wall is constructed.
Securing to the wall
A hole is to be provided in the rear wall of
the appliance, in the area of the switching
elements, through which a suitable load-bear-
ing screw or bolt is inserted for the purpose
of securing it (for dimensions see „Technical
Data", page 18).
Before securing the appliance, care is to be
taken to ensure that the permissible minimum
distance intervals to adjacent surfaces are
maintained.
Securing to the floor
The appliance is secured to the floor by
screwing or bolting the base of the appliance
to the floor through 4 holes of 9 mm diameter.
This securing arrangement can only be carried
out if the air outlet and inlet grilles and the air
flow device are removed.
2.5.1 Installation of heater C - H
⇒ Unscrew the air outlet grille (4) and take it
out;
⇒ Pull the air inlet grill (5) of the lower part
forward from the catch spring and take it
off by raising it from the upper lock;
⇒ Unscrew the front wall (3) and the inner
front wall (7) located behind it, in each
case at the lower edge, pivot it forwards,
and detach it at the upper edge by raising
it slightly;
⇒ Raise the right-hand side wall element (2)
slightly and take it off;
⇒ Guide the mains connection leads and
connection leads for the charging and dis-
charging regulator through the aperture in
the rear wall of the appliance (12) into the
device, and connect it, taking Point 2.5.2
into account (offset the connection lead by
about 260 mm and shorten it as required,
in such a way that it cannot touch the slots
in the side panel);
⇒ Place the appliance at the intended instal-
lation location and screw or bolt it to the
securing wall (with the base securing to
the floor as required).
⇒ Remove the cover plate (9) and the card-
board inserts from the interior. These must
be entirely free of foreign bodies such as
packing residue, etc.
Check the thermal insulation in the
appliance for transport damage, and
replace it if necessary.
I - J
Insert storage blocks
The storage blocks can be used even with
slight transport damage. This will not impair
the operation of the appliance.
To insert the storage blocks (8), the heating
elements (E5) must be slightly raised. The first
storage block with the heating element trough
is laid facing upwards, with a certain amount
of space between it and the right-hand ther-
mal insulation, beneath the heating element,
and is pushed onto the right and rear thermal
insulation. The longitudinal holes form the
heating channels.
When raising the heating elements, take care
to ensure that the transition holes in the side
thermal insulation are not made wider due to
the heating elements.
Finally, slide the cover plate (9), drawn out of
the interior, over the upper storage blocks.

2.5.2 Electrical connection

The electrical connection for the heating
elements can be provided with 400 V three-
phase current (Y) or AC, 230 V 50 Hz.
Connection with NYM is possible. The
number of leads and lead cores, and the lead
cross-sections, are dependent on the con-
nection value of the appliance and the type
of mains connection, as well as on the special
provisions issued by the electricity utility com-
pany. Take note of the relevant circuit diagrams.
