5 Special Installation Instructions
Flow switches for direct installation
Install the control switch in such a way that the paddle does not touch the pipe wall.
Flow switches with pipe section
Install pipe section of the flow switch into the pipe like any other valve.
Sealing the brass pipe sections must be done by sealing the thread (Teflon tape, surface
coatings etc.) or by sealing rings at the faces of the tube.
Flow switches optionally equipped with a copper tube section have to be soldered to the
pipe. The flow switch (body with paddle system) and the o-ring have to be disassembled
from the tube section when soldering to prevent overheating.

Type of Contact

WARNING! No safety component!
The flow switches of the series VKX are not safety components in accordance with Di-
rective 2006-42-EG (Machine Directive).
Never use the VKX as a safety component.
The switch unit which is integrated in the body, provides a normally open contact (make con-
tact).
The following table explains the normally open contact:
