Material specifications of wetted components
Prior to flow switch installation, ensure that all the materials of the flow switch are chemically
and mechanically-resistant to the medium which is to be monitored and to all external factors.

General installation instructions
•
Firstly, clean the pipe system in which the flow switch is to be installed and remove
any magnetic particles, e.g. welding residue.
•
The straight in- and outlet pipe (in front of and behind the flow switch) has to be at
least 5 x DN.
•
The nominal installation position of the flow switch is an "upright
standing position" in horizontal pipework.
•
The switches should only be installed in a vertical position, deviation
max. 45° (
Fig.).
•
Please contact the manufacturer if other installation positions are
desired.
•
Please make sure that there are no external magnetic
fields in the immediate vicinity of the flow switch, since
these can impair device functioning (Fig.).
•
There is an arrow on the flow switch. Ensure that this
arrow is parallel with the pipe shaft and is facing in the
direction of flow during installation (Fig.).
•
Avoid to install the flow switch close to big ferromagnetic
bodies. Those bodies can influence the magnetic based
switching function of the VKX and can decrease the
operating reliability.
•
Screw on the union nut G ¾ made of plastic with a maximum torque of 8 Nm.
