resistive load of the same power rating. Most common problem with televisions, they may require
2 to 6 times their power rating to start up. This relatively small inverter (150W continuous) should
be able to handle small electronic equipment. Since television (and electrical induction motors)
characteristics vary widely, sometimes only experimentation will determine if a specific load can be
started and how long it can be run. If the inverter isn't able to run the load a larger inverter (higher
in Watts) is necessary.
NOTE: There is much misunderstanding about the necessary inverter for a specific load. Often is
heard that the larger the inverter the better but this isn't completely true. Every type of inverter has
a signal that is specially tuned for the load that is indicated, e.g. this inverter 1 TO 150W. Another
inverter could be from 150W to 300W. ONLY USE A LARGER INVERTER IF THE POWER CONSUMP-
TION IS ABOVE THE 15OW. DON'T USE A LARGER INVERTER WHEN THE POWER CONSUMPTION
IS SMALLER.
BATTERY OPERATING TIME
The maximum operating time depends of the state and type of battery and the power consumption
the connected equipment draws. If the battery quality and/or the power draw is doubtable we
advise to leave the engine on so that the battery is charged when the inverter and it's connected
equipment are used.
1) SECURITY CIRCUITS: The power inverter constantly monitors the following hazardous condi-
tions:
2) SHORT CIRCUIT: Reverse polarity or short circuit condition of the load will usually result in open-
ing of the short circuit protection.
3) HIGH TEMPERATURE: When the temperature of the internal heat sinks reaches 66
state temperature sensor located in the power inverter will automatically shut down the unit.
Once it is cooled down enough, it will restart automatically.
4) OVERLOAD: The Power inverter will shut down when the output power exceeds the maximum
power. Just remove the to high load and the power inverter will restart automatically.
5) LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE : This condition is not harmful to the inverter, but will damage the con-
nected equipment. An audible alarm is sounded when input voltage drops to 10,5 volts. The
inverter shuts down when input voltage drops to 10.0 volts.
The alarm indicates that the battery requires recharging. The user should stop operations at this
time, since the power inverter will shut down automatically when battery voltage drops to 10 Volts.
If the low battery alarm sounds when the battery is fully charged it is possible the inverter is over-
loaded, or if there is an excessive voltage drop between the battery and the inverter (see also the
Trouble Shooting Guide).
NOTE: the alarm may sound shortly when the unit is being connected to, or discon-
nected from, the power source. This is normal and does not indicate any problem.
NOTE: FOR ALL THE DESCRIBED SECURITY CIRCUITS IN MOST CASES IT IS NECCASARY
THAT THE USER TAKES ACTION TO CHANGE THE SITUATION BEFORE THE INVERTER CAN
RE-START PROPERLY, E.G. REMOVE THE TO HIGH LOAD, REDUCE THE TEMPERATURE
AROUND THE PRODUCT, CHARGE THE BATTERY. IN SOME SITUATIONS THE INVERTER
HAS TO BE MANUALY RESTARTED WITH THE ON/OFF SWITCH (ALWAYS WAIT A MINUTE
BEFORE RESTARTING).
