INSTALLATION
The power source must provide between 11 and 15 Volts DC and must be able to supply sufficient
current to operate correctly. As a rough guideline, divide the power consumption of the load (in
Watts) by 10 to obtain the current (in Amperes) which the power source must deliver.
Example: Load is rated at 150W (maximum continues load for this inverter). Power source must be
able to deliver: 150 divided by 10 = 15A.
CAUTION: THE INVERTER WILL NOT OPERATE FROM A 6V BATTERY AND WILL BE DAM-
AGED WHEN CONNECTED TO A 24V BATTERY.
PLACEMENT
For best operating results, the inverter should be placed on a flat surface and well ventilated space.
Approximately 75 cm of cord has been provided for this purpose. The inverter should only be used
in locations that meet the following requirements:
1) DRY: Keep away from water. Do not allow water to drip or splash on the power inverter.
2) COOL: The environmental temperature should be between 10 - 27 Co. Do not place the inverter
on or near a heating vent or any equipment which is generating heat above room temperature.
Do not place the inverter in direct sunlight.
3) VENTILATED: Allow at least one inch of free space around the power inverter for air flow. Do not
place anything on or over the inverter during operation.
4) SAFE: Do not use the power inverter near flammable materials or in any location which may
accumulate flammable fumes or gases, such as the battery compartment of your car, truck, RV,
or boat.
CONNECTING
The inverter comes equipped with a cigarette lighter plug for connection to the 12V power source.
1) IF NECESSARRY START THE ENGINE BEFORE CONNECTING THE INVERTER. DON'T START OR
RE-START THE ENGINE WILST INVERTER IS ON AND EQUIPMENT CONNECTED.
2) MAKE SURE THE POWER INVERTER IS OFF BEFORE CONNECTING, PUT ON AFTER CONNEC-
TION.
3) WAIT A COUPLE OF SECONDS SO THAT THE INVERTER IS PROPERLY STARTED AND CON-
NECTED THE EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION
- DO NOT USE WITH POSITIVE GROUND ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS.
- DO NOT REVERSE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE WIRES IN YOUR ELEKTRICAL CIRCUIT.
RATED VERSUS ACTUAL POWER USE OF EQUIPMENT
Most electrical tools, appliances and audio/video equipment have a label indicating power con-
sumption in Amps or Watts. Add up the power consumption from those items you will use simulta-
neously, keeping total below the maximum power (150W) of the inverter. If the power consumption
is rated in Amps, multiply it by the AC Volts (230) to determine the Wattage. For example, a radio
rate at 0,5 Amps will use (0,5x230) 115 Watts, well within the limits of what the power inverter can
handle on a continuous basis.
Resistive loads, such as light bulbs, are the easiest for the inverter to drive. Inductive loads, such as
TV's and radio's (any device with a coil or transformer in it) require more current to operate than a
