• Always switch off the tool when turning the dial on the dust case. Turning the dial while the tool is running may result
in the loss of control of the tool.
By beating the dust on the filter inside the dust case, you can keep the vacuum efficiency and also reduce the number
of times to dispose of the dust.
Turn the dial on the dust case three times after collecting every 50,000 mm
performance declined.
NOTE:

Switch-off delay function
After turning off, the dust collection system will run for a few seconds longer to collect the remaining dust in the duct
in the dust case.
Emptying the dust case
NOTE:
• Too much dust in the dust case would result in a considerable loss of dust extracting power. Accordingly, clean out
the dust case regularly.
CAUTION:
• Wear respiratory protection when emptying the dust case.
• Do not touch the filter section when cleaning it.
• Do not use a brush or air duster to clean the filter section. Using a brush or compressed air may damage the filter.
1. Before removing the dust case from the attachment, hold the power tool horizontally. (Fig. 5)
2. Press the dust case release button and with the button depressed pivot it on the lower side axis.
3. Remove the dust case from the attachment.
4. To open the dust case, raise the lever lightly and then pivot the transparent section. (Fig. 6)
5. Empty the dust case by tapping it lightly. (Fig. 7)
Be careful not to let out excessive dust into the air.
6. Remount the dust case in place on the attachment.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and battery cartridge is removed before attempting to perform inspection
or maintenance.
NOTE:
• Do not use water, oil, grease, detergent or cleaning agents.
• Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.
Cleaning of the attachment
Clean the attachment using only a dry rug and a dry brush.
Wear respiratory protection when cleaning.
Replacing the filter
Check the filter regularly for damage and if damaged, replace the old filter with a new one.
To replace the filter, follow the procedure below.
1. Press the dust case release button and with the button depressed pivot it on the lower side axis. (Fig. 8)
2. Remove the dust case from the attachment.
3. Pry up the filter cover on the dust case using a slotted bit screwdriver to be inserted into the slit. (Fig. 9)
4. Pull the old filter away from the dust case by hand. (Fig. 10)
5. Put a new filter in the original position. (Fig. 11)
6. Snap the filter cover on the dust case. (Fig. 12)
7. Remount the dust case in place on the attachment. (Fig. 13)
Replacing the sealing cap
Replace a sealing cap at regular intervals as a worn or damaged sealing cap may affect the suction performance.
1. Insert a flat-blade screwdriver, with its flat surfaces vertical, into one of the release holes placed on the sides of the
nozzle head. Tilt the flat-blade screwdriver at an angle to squeeze and pop the cube hook of the sealing cap out
of the molded receptacle. Then peel the rubber edges of the sealing cap away from the rims of the nozzle head
opening. (Fig. 14)
2. Set one of cube hooks of a renewed sealing cap into the molded receptacle in the nozzle head with a recessed
surface of the sealing cap facing forwards. (Fig. 15)
3. Place the other hook into the receptacle on the opposite side of the nozzle head, while repositioning the sealing cap
to fit finely to the nozzle head. (Fig. 16)
4. Gently lay the rubber edges of the sealing cap down over the rims of the nozzle head opening from bottom to top.
