7.3 Using the mouse

1. Switch on your computer.
2. Switch on the mouse by sliding the ON OFF switch (2) to ON position.
Both the transmitter and receiver will connect automatically via 2.4 GHz radio technol-
Æ
ogy. After the connection has been established, the operating system will install the
required driver. A pop-up message will indicate the successful installation.
3. You may now operate your computer by pressing the mouse buttons or using the scroll
wheel (1).
4. After use, disconnect the receiver from the USB port on your computer and store it away
in the storage compartment of the mouse. Slide the ON OFF on/off switch (2) to the OFF
position in order to save battery power.
Notes:
– The optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse might not operate properly on some
surfaces, such as transparent, smooth, shiny, reflecting or reflective surfaces. In such
cases, use a suitable mouse pad.
– Other strong transmitters in the proximity of the mouse can cause radio interference.
Remove such transmitters. The ideal distance between receiver and mouse is
20 cm.
– Keep the mouse and the receiver away from metal surfaces. Those will divert the
radio signals.
7.4 Establishing a radio connection manually
If radio reception is interfered with, establish the connection manually. When doing so, the
distance between mouse and receiver must not exceed 10 cm.
1. Switch off the mouse by sliding the ON OFF switch (2) to OFF position.
2. Briefly disconnect the receiver from the USB port on your computer and then reconnect
it again.
3. Switch on the mouse by sliding the ON OFF switch (2) to ON position.
4. Press the two mouse buttons and the scroll wheel simultaneously. Release all controls after
approx. 6 seconds.
Or press the right mouse button and the scroll wheel at the same time. Release all controls
after approx. 10 seconds.
The connection has then been established.

7.5 Sleep mode

Not operating the buttons or the scroll wheel of the mouse for approx. 15 minutes will cause
the mouse to activate its sleep mode. The LED will turn off. Current consumption will decrease
to ≤ 0.02 mA.
To activate the mouse use any mouse key or the scroll wheel.

They damage the housing and can cause the product to malfunction.
– Do not immerse the product in water.
1. Disconnect the product from the power supply.
2. Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.

10 Disposal
10.1 Product
This symbol must appear on any electrical and electronic equipment placed on the
EU market. This symbol indicates that this device should not be disposed of as
unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
Owners of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) shall dispose
of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. Spent batteries and accumulators,
which are not enclosed by the WEEE, as well as lamps that can be removed from
the WEEE in a non-destructive manner, must be removed by end users from the
WEEE in a non-destructive manner before it is handed over to a collection point.
Distributors of electrical and electronic equipment are legally obliged to provide free take-back
of waste. Conrad provides the following return options free of charge (more details on our
website):
in our Conrad offices

at the Conrad collection points

at the collection points of public waste management authorities or the collection points set

up by manufacturers or distributors within the meaning of the ElektroG
End users are responsible for deleting personal data from the WEEE to be disposed of.
It should be noted that different obligations about the return or recycling of WEEE may apply in
countries outside of Germany.
10.2 (Rechargeable) batteries
Remove batteries/rechargeable batteries, if any, and dispose of them separately from the prod-
uct. According to the Battery Directive, end users are legally obliged to return all spent batteries/
rechargeable batteries; they must not be disposed of in the normal household waste.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with
this symbol to indicate that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The abbrevia-
tions for heavy metals in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead
(name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).
Used (rechargeable) batteries can be returned to collection points in your municipality, our
stores or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold. You thus fulfil your statutory obligations
and contribute to environmental protection.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries that are disposed of should be protected against short circuit
and their exposed terminals should be covered completely with insulating tape before disposal.
Even empty batteries/rechargeable batteries can contain residual energy that may cause them
to swell, burst, catch fire or explode in the event of a short circuit.
