SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Carefully read the instructions before use!
Save these instructions for future reference.
• Do not use the product in damp, dusty or
smoky environments.
• Do not install the product so that light
and sound are blocked.
• When the battery capacity reaches a low
level the smoke detector will emit an
audio prompt approximately every 43/60
seconds to indicate that the battery needs
to be replaced.
• Store the smoke detector and packaging
materials out of the reach of children.
• If several connected products are installed,
make sure that no objects obstruct
communication.
• The alarm function must only be tested
with the test button on the product. Do
not use any other test method. Test the
alarm function every week, to verify
correct functionality.
• The alarm might not be noticed by all
persons in the building. The alarm signal
is strong, so that it will be easily noticed
when danger exists. Nevertheless there
are several circumstances that can prevent
the alarm signal from being detected, for
example strong background noise indoors
or outdoors, deep sleep, diminished
hearing, or influence of alcohol or drugs.
Alarm devices must therefore be chosen
and adapted to such and other
conceivable difficulties in detecting the
alarm signal. If for example a person in
the household has diminished hearing
and therefore can be expected to have
difficulty in detecting the alarm signal,
special alarms with light and/or vibration
signals must be installed. To provide
effective protection from personal injury
or death, a smoke detector must be heard
very quickly.
