Purpose
Thanks to its compressive knitted fabric, in combi-
nation with stabilising rigid elements and optional
straps, the LumboMax orthosis supports the lumbar
region of the back, thus relieving it during movement.
The sacral pad provides stabilisation in the end range
of motion and, thanks to friction nubs, has a massag-
ing effect on the muscles.
Here is how to put on your LumboMax
correctly:
1. Fasten the stabilising girdle as described by your
physician or the orthopaedic technician between
the two rear bars on the fleece belt and press to-
gether firmly. The tip of the stabilising girdle must
point downwards (Fig. 1).
2. To make it easier to put on, slip your hands into the
finger pockets on the fastener parts. Now place
the orthosis around your body (Fig. 2) and close
the touch fasteners on the front of the orthosis in
the following order: First place the left part of the
fastener on your stomach (Fig. 2) and then place
the right side of the fastener tightly across it and
fasten it (Fig. 3 + 4).
The orthosis is properly in place when it covers the
abdomen without exerting too much (painful) pres-
sure. The orthosis must be put on, or must be pulled
down, so that the lower edge of the orthosis is situat-
ed just above the groin. The orthosis can be readjust-
ed at any time by repeating step 2 above.
Please note:
Only wear your orthosis when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff of a medical products supplier.
The effectiveness of the orthosis can only be real-
ised if it is applied correctly. The orthosis is largely
resistant to oils, ointments, skin moisture and other
environmental influences. Certain combinations may
negatively impact on the durability of the fabric. We
therefore recommend that it gets examined regularly
by the medical products supplier. Should the product
become damaged, please consult your specialist
supplier. Do not repair the orthosis yourself – this
could compromise its quality and medical efficacy.
For hygienic reasons, the orthosis is not suitable for
treating more than one patient.
