Useful advice

The plate compactor is designed to compact
asphalt and grained material, such as gravel,
by means of vibrations.
It must not be used on a solid, tightly
compacted surface such as hardened
asphalt, concrete or tiles where the power of
the vibrations cannot be transferred to the
surface.
If possible, smooth over and level the area to
be compacted before starting work.
If the water content of the ground is too
low, it cannot be compacted adequately. If
it is too high, the compactor will leave holes
full of water, which will reduce the surface's
load-bearing capacity. Dry surfaces should
be dampened before using the compactor.
If the water content is very high, the engine
will cut out.
inspection and checks
before each use
Check the engine oil level and check for
leaks.
Check that all bolts and nuts are tightened.
Lubricate all moving parts as required.
Check for defective parts.
Check that the operating mechanisms are
functioning correctly.
Clean the underside of the compactor plate
to prevent build-up of deposits.

Periodic inspections after the first 20 hours
of operation and then after every 50 hours
of operation:
Change the engine oil.
Clean the air filter.
Check the condition and tension of the V-belt
Check the oil level in the compactor.
Check the spark plug.
Check the vibration-damping rubber shock
absorbers for wear and defects.
every 200 hours of normal operation:
Replace the oil in the vibrator.
For every 300 hours of operation or
annually:
Replace the V-belt.
Replace the spark plug
Replace the air filter.
