4. Power on to upload new CONNECT firmware

Press the button for about 10 seconds. The device switches on into "Ser-
vice Mode." The group LEDs start flashing alternately. The device is now
ready to receive a software update.

5. Battery Status

There is a battery symbol on the surface and shows the battery status by
color.
1. LED Green: A charge level of more than 50%
2. LED Red: A charge level less than 50%
3. The battery status can also be viewed in the app under the „Devices"
menu
Tips
The state of charge calculation is only accurate after a full charge/dischar-
ge cycle. When the battery is completely empty, the device flashes red 3
times and then switches off automatically.

6. Recharge Battery

To charge the battery, plug-in the CONNECT to the PSU or put the CON-
NECT in the appropriate tour case. The charging voltage is about 18V.
The device will flash red while charging. As soon as the battery is fully
charged, the device will flash green. The electronics of the CONNECT will
automatically switch to a trickle charge when the battery is full. (The CON-
NECT can remain connected to a charging current 24/7 – 365 days)

7. Overview of the Control Functions

1. Smartphone or tablet app control. Search for „ape labs" in the app
stores.
2. Wireless DMX Transmitter (Also to be used in conjunction with the Ape
Labs KNX-DMX Adapter)

App
1. Download the Ape Labs app from the Apple App Store or Google Play-
store. (search term: "Ape Labs")
2. Activate the Bluetooth function on your tablet or smartphone and open
the app.
3. Follow the instructions in the app.
4. Turn on the CONNECT. To do this, press and hold the button for approx.
2 seconds.
Wireless DMX Transmitter

1. Follow the steps from Section 1 „App"
2. Within the app, select the menu item „More"
3. Select the menu item „DMX Transmitter" and then the group (1-4)
4. Activate the DMX transmitter mode „ Enable Transmitter"
Important
Once the mode has been activated, access to the app is blocked! Access
to the CONNECT with the Ape Labs app is possible again after the restart.
DMX always has the highest safety priority.

Press the button for about 6 seconds. The device switches itself on and is
directly in wireless DMX transmitter mode. The group (1-4) can be changed
by briefly pressing the button. The LEDs on the CONNECT show the re-
spective group (DMX universe).

∙ Follow the steps from Section 1 „App"
• Within the app, select the menu item „More"
• Select the menu item „DMX receiver „ and then the group (1-4)
• Activate the DMX transmitter mode „ Enable Receiver"
