Operation and use

1. Connect the BNC connector of the electrode to the pH meter and
remove the protective cap containing storage solution from the
electrode.
2. Rinse the electrode with running water and dry it using clean
kitchen paper.
3. Press the on/off button to turn on the meter.
4. Place the electrode in the (soft) substrate (make sure the substrate
is well wet/damp, otherwise the meter will not work properly) or
liquid to be measured.
5. Wait for the value to stabilise. The measurement is now complete.
6. Press the HOLD button to save the measurement. Do not forget to
press the HOLD button again when the meter is used once more.
7. Rinse the electrode with clean water after use, so that no residue
is left on the electrode. Replace the electrode in the protective cap
containing the storage solution.
8. Press the on/off button to turn off the meter.
We recommend storing the meter with KCI storage solution in the
protective cover.
Calibrating the pH meter
1. Press the On/off button to start the meter.
2. Gently clean the electrode with distilled water and dry it off.
3. Insert the meter in an upright position in pH buffer solution pH 7.01
(make sure this is 25°C ) and stir gently.
4. Wait until the value on the display is stable.
5. Press and hold the CAL button for 5 seconds. CAL pH 7.0 will now
appear on the display. Calibration is complete as soon as a tick sign
appears on the screen.
6. Gently clean the electrode with distilled water and dry it off.
7. Repeat the process with pH 4.01 buffer solution.
8. Gently clean the meter before storing it. Calibration is now complete.
When is calibration required?
• If the electrode has been replaced.
• If the meter was last calibrated over a month ago.
• If the meter is used on a regular basis.
• If high precision is needed.
