Installation in wooden subfloors

You will also need
• Sheet metal facing for wooden subfloors (E 89 603 90)
• Galvanised plaster mesh
Plan the installation
Because the heating cable may neither be cut nor crossed,
installation must be carefully planned so that the cable is
correct for the room.
Lay no more than 4 lengths/section (c/c = 14 cm).
4 lengths/60 cm section produces approx. 75 W/m
3 lengths/60 cm section produces approx. 55 W/m
Follow the instructions in section, Location of sensor and
connection cables. In wooden subfloors the spiral tube is
placed directly under the floor board adjoining a floor joist.
The connection cable's joint must be secured to the mesh.
Installation
1. Measure the cable insulation and resistance. Fill in the
test report.
2. Roll out the cable beginning at the connector. The cable
is secured with cable ties or similar means. The distance
between the attachment points must not exceed 35 cm. Lay
the heating cable so that
it intersects with the joists at walls. Saw out the joist and
insert a sheet metal facing plate (E 89 603 90). The distance
between the cable and wooden subfloor must be at least 2
cm. The cable may neither be crossed nor bundled; the
minimum spacing is 5 cm.
3. Measure and fill in the test report. Document the cable's
position with a drawing or photo and store it at the main
junction box. Check that the cable is not covered by insula-
tion or construction waste.

Prepare the subfloor
Lay mesh above the insulation so that it forms an air gap of
approximately 3 cm. Secure the mesh to the floor joists with
a staple gun or similar device.

Floor covering
1. Install the chipboard. The floor covering is installed above
the chipboard. Wooden floors may not be laid directly
against the joists/air gaps due to the risk of uneven drying.
2. Insulation and resistance measure the cable after laying the
floor and enter the values in the test report, or use Garantera
on your smartphone.
