7.4 Trouble shooting

Troubleshooting should only be carried out by a specialist or by service staff from an authorised
WESSAMAT specialist dealer.
Fault
Machine
produces an ice
plate
- Tub only tilts
approximately
one third or not at
all, and ice cubes
are not
discharged
- Tub tilts fully
(contact with limit
switch is made)
but immediately
returns to original
position

Cause
1. Ice thickness
motor faulty,
gearing no longer
rotating
2. Defective ice
thickness limit
switch (limit
contacts are stuck
or oxidised)
3. Tilting motor
faulty (trough does
no longer tilt)
4. Water level too
high (water in the
trough touches the
horizontal
evaporator tubes)
1. The direction of
rotation of the tilting
motor changes
under load
2. Tilting motor is
faulty

Trouble shooting measures
1. Replace ice thickness
motor
2. Replace ice thickness limit
switch
3. Replace tilting motor
4. Water level sensor soiled -
clean or readjust probe
ice thickness motor
1. Replace capacitor
2. Replace tilting motor
Check defrosting thermostat
(switch point at +17°C).
Readjust the defrosting
thermostat accordingly or
replace it.
