2. Safety Instructions
● Read and understand this manual and all safety signs
before using this appliance. ● This device can be used by
children aged from 8 years and above, and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning the use of the
device in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children shall not play with the device. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision. ● Protect this device from heat
sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat. ● Do
not remove the cover under any conditions. There are no
user-serviceable parts inside. Never operate this device
when its cover is removed. ● Familiarise yourself with the
functions of the device before actually using it.
3. General Guidelines

abuse. Avoid brute force when operating the device.
● Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device
before actually using it. ● All modifications of the device
are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage caused by user
modifications to the device is not covered by the
warranty. ● Only use the device for its intended purpose.
Using the device in an unauthorised way will void the
warranty. ● Damage caused by disregard of certain
guidelines in this manual is not covered by the warranty
and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any
ensuing defects or problems. ● Keep this manual for
future reference.

5. Battery
Warning: Handle batteries with care, observe warnings
on battery casing. Dispose of batteries in accordance with
local regulations. Keep batteries away from children.
● Slide the battery cover at the back of the scale open.
● Insert 2 new type AAA/R03 batteries with polarity as
indicated inside the battery casing. ● Close the battery
compartment. ● Do not attempt to recharge non-

rechargeable batteries and do not throw batteries in fire
as they might explode.
6. Operation
● Place the scale on a flat, steady vibration-free surface.
● Use the On/Off button [C] to switch on the scale.
● Select the desired weighing unit (gram (g), ounce (oz),
troy ounce (oz t), pennyweight (dwt), carat (ct) and
grains (gr)) by pressing on the mode button [D]. The
selected unit is shown on the display [B]. ● Always place
the weight in the centre of the balance and wait until the
measurement is stabilized before reading the value [A].
● When tare needs to be subtracted, place the tare
weight on the scale and wait until the measurement is
stabilized. Press the tare button [E] to reset the scale to
zero. ● Note that the scale has an auto-power off
function. The scale will switch off after ±30 seconds when
no activity is detected. ● To calibrate the scale, a weight
of exactly 500 g (or 2500 carat, 17.637 ounce,
7716,1792 grains, 16.08 troy ounce or 321.5075
pennyweight) is needed (not included). ● Press and hold
the CAL button [F] until CAL is displayed. Press the CAL
button [F] again. ● Place the calibration weight in the
centre of the scale and press the CAL button [F]. The
display shows Pass. Remove the weight and switch off the
scale.

1. Inleiding

Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit

Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan
dat, als het na zijn levenscyclus wordt
weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan
toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel
(en eventuele batterijen) niet bij het gewone
huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een
gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen voor
recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar
een lokaal recyclagepunt brengen. Respecteer de
plaatselijke milieuwetgeving. Hebt u vragen,
contacteer dan de plaatselijke autoriteiten
betreffende de verwijdering.

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
● Lees en begrijp deze handleiding en de
veiligheidsinstructies vóór ingebruikname. ● Dit toestel is
geschikt voor gebruik door kinderen vanaf 8 jaar, door
personen met fysieke, zintuiglijke of verstandelijke
beperkingen, of door personen met gebrek aan ervaring
en kennis, op voorwaarde dat dit onder toezicht gebeurt
van een persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor hun
veiligheid of hun aanwijzingen heeft gegeven, hoe zij het
toestel moeten gebruiken en zich bewust zijn van de
risico's die het gebruik van het toestel met zich
meebrengt. Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel spelen.
Reiniging en onderhoud mogen niet worden uitgevoerd
door kinderen zonder toezicht. ● Houd dit toestel uit de
buurt van warmtebronnen zoals radiatoren,
verwarmingselementen, fornuizen of andere toestellen
(incl. versterkers) die warmte produceren. ● Demonteer
of open dit toestel nooit. De gebruiker mag geen
onderdelen vervangen. Gebruik dit toestel nooit wanneer
de behuizing geopend is. ● Leer eerst de functies van het
toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.

3. Algemene richtlijnen

op www.velleman.eu. ● Bescherm tegen schokken.
Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de bediening van het toestel.
● Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u
het gaat gebruiken. ● Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen
wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel. Schade door
wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het
toestel valt niet onder de garantie. ● Gebruik het toestel
enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De garantie vervalt
automatisch bij ongeoorloofd gebruik. ● De garantie geldt
niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde
richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de
verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen
die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden. ● Bewaar
deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.

5. Batterij
Waarschuwing: Volg de richtlijnen op de verpakking
van de batterijen. Houd de batterijen buiten bereik van
kinderen.
● Open het batterijvak achteraan het toestel. ● Plaats
twee nieuwe AAA/R03-batterijen. De polariteit staat in
het batterijvak aangeduid. ● Sluit het batterijvak.
● Herlaad geen alkalinebatterijen. Gooi batterijen nooit in
het vuur.
6. Bediening
● Open de weegschaal en plaats op een vlak en stabiel
oppervlak. ● Druk op de aan-uitschakelaar [C] om de
weegschaal in te schakelen. ● Kies de weegeenheid (g,
oz, oz t, dwt, ct, gr) met de modustoets [D]. De
geselecteerde eenheid wordt op de display [B]
weergegeven. ● Plaats het in het midden van het
weegplatform. Wacht tot de meting op de display [A]
gestabiliseerd is en lees het gewicht van de display af.
● Om het tarragewicht van een brutogewicht af te
trekken, plaats het tarragewicht op het platform en wacht
tot het gewicht op de display gestabiliseerd is. Druk op
de tarraknop [E] om de weegschaal op nul te resetten.
● De weegschaal schakelt automatisch uit 30 seconden
na de laatste weging. ● IJk de weegschaal met een
keurgewicht (niet meegeleverd) van exact 500 g (of 2500
ct, 17.637 oz, 7716,1792 gr, 16.08 oz t of 321.5075
dwt). ● Houd de ijktoets [F] ingedrukt tot CAL op het
scherm verschijnt. Druk de ijktoets [F] opnieuw in.
● Plaats het keurgewicht van 500 g in het midden van het
platform en druk op de ijktoets [F]. Het scherm geeft Pass
weer. Verwijder het keurgewicht en schakel de
weegschaal uit.
