1.1 Front panel

1 Supplied mounting brackets for the installation of
the amplifier into a rack (482 mm/19")

6 Fuse holder; only replace a blown fuse by one of

This unit corresponds to the directive for electromag-
netic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low voltage
directive 73/23/EEC.

This unit uses hazardous mains voltage
(230 V~). To prevent a shock hazard, do not
open the cabinet. Leave servicing to author-
ized, skilled personnel only. Furthermore,
any guarantee claim expires if the unit has
been opened.

Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netz-
spannung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie
deshalb nie selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor.
Durch unsachgemäßes Vorgehen besteht die
Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages. Außer-
dem erlischt beim Öffnen des Gerätes jeg-
licher Garantieanspruch.
Vorsicht! Im Betrieb liegt an den Laut-
sprecheranschlüssen berührungsgefährliche
Spannung an.
Alle Anschlüsse nur bei ausgeschaltetem
Gerät vornehmen bzw. verändern.
Beachten Sie auch unbedingt die folgenden Punkte:
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur im Innenbereich.
Schützen Sie es vor Tropf- und Spritzwasser,
hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hitze (zulässiger Ein-
satztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).
Stellen Sie keine mit Flüssigkeit gefüllten Gefäße,
z. B. Trinkgläser, auf das Gerät.
Die in dem Gerät entstehende Wärme muß durch
Luftzirkulation abgegeben werden. Decken Sie
darum die Lüftungsschlitze des Gehäuses nicht
mit irgendwelchen Gegenständen ab.
Stecken Sie nichts durch die Lüftungsschlitze!
Dabei kann es zu einem elektrischen Schlag kom-
men.
Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb bzw. zie-
hen Sie sofort den Netzstecker, wenn:
1. sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der Netz-
anschlußleitung vorhanden sind,
2. nach einem Sturz oder ähnlichem der Verdacht
auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Lassen Sie das Gerät in jedem Fall in einer Fach-
werkstatt reparieren.
Eine beschädigte Netzanschlußleitung darf nur
durch den Hersteller oder durch eine autorisierte
Fachwerkstatt ersetzt werden.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung
aus der Steckdose.
Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, nicht richtig an-
geschlossen, falsch bedient oder nicht fachge-

speaker connections with a dangerous volt-
age during operation.
All connections must only be carried out or
changed with the unit switched off.
Also observe the following items in any case:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g.
drinking glasses, on the unit.
The heat generated in the unit has to be dissi-
pated by air circulation. Therefore, the air vents of
the cabinet must not be covered.
Do not insert anything into the air vents! This can
result in an electric shock.
Do not take the unit into operation or immediately
disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by author-
ized, skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or authorized, skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket
by means of the mains cable.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is not connected or operated proper-
ly or not repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,
there is no liability for any possible damage.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
it must be disposed of in a local recycling plant.
Important for U. K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth,
blue = neutral,
brown = live
recht repariert, kann für eventuelle Schäden keine

Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Chemikalien oder Wasser.
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb genom-
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur Entsorgung
einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.
3 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Der Stereo-PA-Verstärker STA-102 mit einer Spit-
zenleistung von 2 x 100 W ist speziell für den Ein-
satz auf der Bühne und in der Disco konzipiert.
Umfangreiche Schutzschaltungen schützen den
Verstärker bei Überlastung und Überhitzung.
4 Verstärker aufstellen
Der Verstärker kann sowohl als freistehendes Tisch-
gerät aufgestellt als auch mit den beiliegenden Mon-
tagewinkeln (1) in ein Rack (482 mm/19") eingebaut
werden. In jedem Fall muß Luft ungehindert durch
alle Lüftungsschlitze strömen können, damit eine
ausreichende Kühlung gewährleistet ist.

4.1 Rackeinbau

Für die Rackmontage werden 2 HE (Höheneinheiten)
= 89 mm benötigt. Dabei sollte jedoch ober- und un-
terhalb des Verstärkers zusätzlich Platz frei bleiben,
damit eine ausreichende Belüftung sichergestellt ist.
Damit das Rack nicht kopflastig wird, muß der
Verstärker im unteren Bereich des Racks eingescho-
ben werden. Für eine sichere Befestigung reicht die
Frontplatte allein nicht aus. Zusätzlich müssen Sei-
tenschienen oder eine Bodenplatte das Gerät halten.
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which
is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
, or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
3 Applications
The stereo PA amplifier STA-102 with a music power
of 2 x 100 W has especially been designed for stage
and disco applications. Extensive protection circuits
protect the amplifier in case of overload and over-
heating.
4 Installation
The amplifier can be placed as a table top unit as
well as be installed into a rack (482 mm/19") with the
supplied mounting brackets (1). In each case the air
must be able to move freely through all ventilation
slots in order to secure a sufficient cooling.

4.1 Rack installation

For the rack mounting two rack spaces = 89 mm are
required. Additional space should remain above and
below the amplifier to ensure a sufficient ventilation.
In order to avoid a top load of the rack, the ampli-
fier must be inserted in the lower range of the rack.
To secure a safe fixing, the front panel is not suffi-
cient enough. Additionally lateral rails or a bottom
plate have to support the unit.
