- INSTALLATION

4.1 Starting

Remove the shear and the back.pack (6) from its case.
Fit the holster (29) onto the back-pack belt (6) (on the right or on the left).
Check the ON-OFF switch (8) is off (in position 0).
Charge the batteries (2) (see chapter 'Battery charger' 5.3).

- USE OF THE TOOL

5.1 Shear use

Wear the back-pack (6) (see photo) and adjust the belt buckle (5).
The back-pack (6) shall be positioned in such a way that 90% of its weight is supported by the operator's waist instead of by his
back (see photo F).
The braces supplied (27) can be used to improve the weight balancing (10%).
Pull out the shear from its holster (29) holding it in your hand.
Wear the cable arm fastener (28) to keep the cable (11) off the cutting operations.
Switch on (8) the ON-OFF switch (position 1) with the free hand.
Handle the shear and press the active safety catch (13).
Press the trigger (14) twice and the mobile blade (16) will open.
The shear is ready to operate.
The shear has 2 operative modes which can be selected with the switch (10):
PROGRESSIVE CUT, position 1: the operator controls the blade (16) opening and closing progressive movements. The
blade (16) either moves or stops according to the operator's finger operating the trigger (14). The mode is selected with the
switch (10). This system grants the maximum operators' safety. Therefore, it is recommended to use such mode for at least
5/6 days until the operator gains the necessary confidence.
AUTOMATIC CUT, position 2: the blade (16) opens and closes automatically. It only requires a light pressure on the trigger
(14). This mode is selected with the switch (10) and this system allows to prune in the fastest way. It is recommended to use
the automatic mode only after the operator gets well trained.
In the automatic cut mode only, by putting the switch (3) in position 1, the mobile blade reaches its 100% opening, while in
position 2 it opens 60% only. The reduced 60% opening allows much faster pruning operations when cutting small diameter
branches.

5.2 Shear stopping

The shear must always be kept in its holster (29) with closed blades (17):
Position the switch (10) in the progressive mode (position 0), press the trigger (14) and close the blade (16).
Keeping the trigger pressed (14), the blade (16) remains closed. Then switch the ON-OFF switch (8) off (position 0).
WARNING!
Do not over-press the trigger (14), since it would not increase the cutting power.
5.3 Battery (2) re-charging
[See ch. 6 "Battery charger" (21)]
Use the battery charger (21) in a dry room, at a temperature between 15° and 25°.
Verify that the ON-OFF switch (8) is off, in position 0.
Check the 115/230 V selector (25) is in the right position according to the electric network.
Insert the plug (20) into the electric outlet.
When the battery charger (21) is inserted in the electric outlet, the green lights (22) keep switched on, while the red lights (23) flash.
Connect the battery charger (21) outlet cable plug (24) with the connector (7) of the electronic card box (9). When the red
lights (23) switch on, it means the charging process has started.
The batteries charge will stop automatically when the battery cells (2) are completely charged. This is indicated by the red
lights (23) which switch off.
The battery charger (21) re-charges the two 20- cells batteries (2) independently. The re-charging time for each battery can be
different. The batteries charge is complete only when the 2 red lights (23) turn off.
Once re-charging is complete and the red lights (23) switch off, the battery charger (21) will automatically pass to a charge
maintaining phase.
By removing the battery charger (21) connector (24) from the electronic card box (9) connector (7), the circuit will re-set itself
for a new re-charging process automatically.
