To engage:
Turn the clutch handle in direction B. Rotate the cable drum in direction B until it locks. The winch is now ready to hoist.
The FSB versions are equipped with an adjustable slipping clutch. The slipping clutch enables the cable to be discharged in a controlled manner in the free
spool mode. The slipping clutch can be set by unscrewing the 4 adjustment screws. De spring will be set correctly for the right torque.
3.6. ATEX
The winches with EX coding can be used in ATEX zones 2 and 22. In addition, a distinction has been made in coding for the worm gear winches (WW), spur gear
winches (TL) and worm gear marine (MR) winches. See type plate for corresponding coding.
The codes have the following meaning:
a.
CE marking in accordance with the European Machinery Directive
b.
Ex marking for explosion safety
c.
Group II for use in all environments (industrial use) except mining
d.
Category 3 is the level of protection and is suitable for either:
G (gas environments)
D (dust environments)
Followed by 'Ex' (explosion proof)
e.
Suitable for or:
II (Gas group II)
III (Dust group III)
Our marine (MR) winches have a higher ignition energy (IIB) in the gas group than our worm gear and spur gear (WW/TL) winches (IIC).
The ignition energies of the dust group are the same for all types of winches, namely IIIC.
f.
Temperature class for or:
T4 (temperature <135 ºC), T135 ºC (temperature <135 ºC)
T3 (temperature <200 ºC), T200 ºC (temperature <200 ºC)
Our worm gear and marine (WW/MR) winches are T4 marked. Our spur gear (TL) winches have a T3 marking.
g.
Equipment Protection Level:
Gc (gas) or Dc (dust)
h.
Ambient temperature (ambient) for use from -20ºC up to 70 ºC

4. Maintenance

The winch must be unloaded for inspection and maintenance tasks. Inspection and maintenance tasks must be performed by skilled personnel, e.g.
via your Gebuwin dealer.

5. Troubleshooting

Trouble/Malfunction
The unloaded winch rotates heavily
The load cannot be held
The load pressure brake does not
function
visually check cable and loading hook
for WW type winches check amount of grease* on the worm wheel gearing
check the brake function
visually check cable and loading hook for any fracture
grease the worm - worm wheel gearing
check the load pressure brake for wear and tear
check the cable according to DIN 15020 pg. 2 for wear and tear; also test and maintain the minimum breaking
force.
check the tightness of the mounting bolts
check all the winch parts for wear and tear; replace where necessary; grease where needed.
check the type identity sticker for clarity
Cause
no grease on the gearing
-
dirt on the gearing
-
during mounting the winch has pulled
-
askew
the cable has been incorrectly wound round
-
the drum which means the crank turning
direction is incorrect
the brake discs are either worn down or
-
faulty
-
braking mechanism and/or discs are
jammed due to infrequent use
Solution
apply grease
-
clean with a detergent and re-grease
-
-
level the mounting surface and re-mount the
winch
wind the cable correctly around the drum
-
check and/or renew the brake discs
-
-
loosen the brake by hitting the crank in the
correct turning direction with the flat of the
hand
