Connecting the receiver

Attention!
Before connecting, remove all films from the
receiver and the remote control. Otherwise, the
receiver may be damaged or the remote control
may fail to function properly.
Attention!
Only connect the receiver to the mains power
supply once you have properly connected it to all
devices and the antenna.

Connecting the antenna

The receiver is connected to the antenna via an
antenna cable. You can connect the receiver via
your house antenna or an active or passive DVB-T
antenna.
When connecting a DVB-T antenna, make the
following settings after properly installing the
receiver. (Commissioning: see pp. 34 ff.)
Activating or deactivating voltage at the anten-
na output
Press the "MENU" key.
Use the arrow keys "
call up the „SETUP" menu.
Use the arrow keys "▼ CH-" and "▲ CH+" to call
up the "Installation" menu. Press the "OK" button.
Use the arrow keys "▼ CH-" and "▲ CH+" to
call up the "Antenna Setting" menu.
You may choose between the following options:
• On – provides the voltage to feed an active DVB-
T antenna. At the receiver's antenna port, a 5V-
voltage is present.
• Off – to connect a passive DVB-T antenna or roof
aerial. No voltage is present at the receiver's
antenna port.
Use the "
VOL+" and "
the desired setting.
In order to exit the menu, press the "EXIT" button
repeatedly.
Please note: If the maximum current of
100 mA is exceeded, the message "antenna
overload" appears. Please check your aerial
connection.

Connect roof aerial or passive DVB-T antenna
Connect the antenna cable's connector to the
"RF IN" antenna connection on the receiver.
Connect active DVB-T antenna
Attention!
Please pay attention to the instructions given in
the Operating Manual of your active DVB-T anten-
na. Otherwise the receiver could become dama-
ged.
To use the receiver with an active DVB-T antenna
you must first switch on the voltage at the antenna
outlet (see page 31). In this case, the active DVB-T
antenna receives the required power from the
antenna port of the receiver.
Connect the antenna cable's connector to the
"RF IN" antenna connection on the receiver.

Connecting with a SCART-cable

Connect the antenna cable's connector to the
"RF IN" antenna connection on the receiver.
Insert the SCART cable into the "TV" SCART
connection on the receiver.
Connect the SCART cable to the TV set. Note the
operating instructions supplied for your TV set.
If you would like to connect a video recorder,
insert a SCART cable into the "VCR" SCART
connection on the receiver.
Connect the SCART cable to the video recorder.
Note the operating instructions supplied for your
video recorder.
Important! for Video recording with the
DVB-T 4538
Before beginning to record, set the volume
of the DVBT receiver to maximum using the
DVB-T receiver remote control.
While recording, you should not make any
functional adjustments to your DVB-T receiver,
since the screen messages will also be recor-
ded.
With the HDMI resolution activated no signal
is output via SCART.
