6.2. General maintenance

For immediate repairs please contact your dealer for support. To keep
your bike in optimal condition, periodical maintaince is necessary. Pre-
emptive maintenance will prevent larger repairs later on. Because the
amount of maintenance necessary is dependent on the usage, discuss
with your dealer which maintenance schedule is fitting to your use.
Below service schedule is advised by QWIC for 'normal use'.
Maintenance frequency:
1st service/check-up ; 2 months / <250 miles
2nd service; 6 months (Small Service) (or every 600 miles)
3rd service; 12 months (Large Service) (or every 1200 miles)
Keep repeating alternating small/large service every 6 months till end of
use.
With every service and making roadworthy:
• Check all vital component's functions; brake, support, gears, lights etc.
• Tighten all nuts/bolts to prevent them from vibrating loose. Protect
all corrosion-sensitive material like stainless steel and aluminium with
vaseline grease
• Gears, and if present brake cables and chain need to be checked on
tensions and adjustment
• Tire pressure and thread depth need to be checked. Also check
sideways movement of rim and make straight if present.
• Play on headset/bottom bracket and wheel bearings need to be
checked and adjusted.
• Check availability of software updates and install where possible
• Burn in brakes (At bike delivery) (or explain end-user how to burn in
disc brakes)(also burn in brakes at rotor/pad replacement).

6. TAKE CARE OF YOUR E-BIKE
1st Service extra - attention points
• Standard check up as mentioned.
• Extra attention to rear wheel spoke tension. Check spoke tension with
appropriate tools and follow tension table known at dealer.
• Extra attention to tension of: Chain, Brake/gear cable(s)
• Full battery read out. Discuss usage of battery with consumer to check
if used properly and/or needs optimalisation. Warn if any mis-usage is
detected.
• If possible adjust power levels and/or torque level values to the liking
of the consumer.
With every large service (yearly):
• Standard check up as mentioned.
• Internal gear hubs is opened and lubricated if needed
• Chain is removed, cleaned and greased
• All other rotating parts are disassembled, cleaned and greased
(Bottom bracket, headset, hubs etc).
• Rotors/pads and possible rims (with rimbrakes) are checked on
thickness and wear. Replace if wearlimit is reached.
