Commissioning, Operation


Observe all information provided on the package for removing the
transport locks.

Carefully remove the bypass magnetic switch from the packaging!

Carefully inspect all parts for outward damage when unpacking.

Conduct a functional test prior to installation

5.1 Functional test

Prior to the test disconnect the electrical connection between the control
and the switch. The switch condition can be determined using, for exam-
ple, continuity testers.
The functional test can be conducted by activating the contact with a per-
manent magnet with a radial magnetic field in the switching range. To do
this, conduct the magnet along the side of the magnetic switch from bot-
tom to top. In doing so the contact must switch over. Then move the mag-
net back from top to bottom. The contact falls back into its original position.
In place of the magnet the float built-in to the bypass level indicator may
also be used.

Functional test
Prior to assembly the magnetic switch can be connected
as described in section 5.3 and the switching points can
be manually activated.
WARNING!
Ensure that the functional test does not start any unin-
tended processes.
Note for Ex devices
For the functional test use testing equipment which is ap-
propriate, or approved for use in potentially explosive at-
mospheres. These operations may only be performed by
qualified personnel.
