Reverse gear shim
NOTE:
Find the reverse gear shim thickness (T2)
by selecting shims until the specified mea-
surement (Mv ) is obtained with the spe-

cial tool.
1. Measure:
9 Measurement (Mv
Shimming plate:
90890-06701
Digital caliper:
90890-06704
NOTE:
Remove the shim(s) before measuring.
2. Calculate:
9 Reverse gear shim thickness (T2)
Reverse gear shim thickness:
(T2) = 80.57 - Mv
3. Select:
9 Reverse gear shim
Calculated numeral
at 1/100th place
31 ~ 40
41 ~ 50
51 ~ 60
61 ~ 70
Available shim thickness:
0.10, 0.20, 0.30,
0.40 and 0.50 mm
Example:
If T2 is "0.31 mm" → refer to "31 ~ 40",
then use a 0.30 mm shim.
If T2 is "0.43 mm" → refer to "41 ~ 50",
then use a 0.40 mm shim.
If T2 is "0.55 mm" → refer to "51 ~ 60",
then use a 0.50 mm shim.
If T2 is "0.67 mm" → refer to "61 ~ 70",
then use a 0.60 mm shim.
