Assembly

The fresh air system must initially be installed by authorised Dräger
Safety experts.
The fresh air system can be installed in all installation positions inside
and outside the vehicle. It is recommended to fix the compressed air
cylinder to the vehicle using two pipe clamps padded with sleeves. If it
is necessary to remove the pressure reducer to re-position the hose
nipple due to the installation situation, the handwheel on the pressure
regulator must then be tightened hand-tight (5 Nm) to ensure the
correct functioning of the Dräger ESS II.
Dräger ESS II 3L/6L
Dräger recommends mounting a differential pressure gauge in the
vehicle.

Hazard from lack of supply with fresh air. Do not squash or
kink the hose, otherwise no positive pressure can build up in
the vehicle cab.
Attach hose to the nipple (6) on the pressure reducer as far as possible
and secure in place with a clamp. The routing of the hose and the
positioning of the air outlet in the vehicle cabin are arranged in
accordance with customer specifications. The hose must be fixed
securely and have bending radius of at least 60 mm.
On initial installation, the electrical passage of the cable laid to trigger
the vehicle system should be tested. The trigger unit has a resistance
of 7.8 +/- 0.5 Ohm see "Connection diagram for Dräger ESS II
connector" on page 14 between contacts 1 and 2 of the connector.
Dräger recommends using the pressure gauge switch contact and
actuating an optical and acoustic signal in addition, see "Diagram for
contact pressure gauge" on page 14. The nominal voltage of the
contact pressure gauge is 12 V DC (direct voltage).
In addition, monitoring of the correct power supply to the Dräger ESS
II trigger unit should be provided to issue a warning to the vehicle
driver in the event of a cable break.
