function.
The VOX function is a on/off switchable voice activated control of the transmitter. When the VOX function is switched on
the transmitter will be activated automatically by speaking in the microphone without pressing the push to talk key at the
microphone anymore. The delay time ( on air time while speaking breaks ) and sensitivity ( adjustment to your personal voice
volume ) of the VOX function is individually adjustable. While transmitting the TX control LED at the microphone lights up.

Power supply

Before connecting the power source to the fused DC power cable ( 23 ) [ DC 13.2V ] the device must be switched OFF by
turning the volume control ( 17 ) [ VOL / OFF anticlockwise as far as the stop and hearing a switching sound. The transceiver
is designed to operate from a power source of 13.8 volts DC, employing negative ground electrical system. For base-station
operation use a suitable power supply ( 13,2 V / 2,0 A, e. g. TEAM LabNT ). The power supply should be designed for operation
with a transceiver, otherwise interference from the mains may occur.
Observe correct polarity of the DC power cable:
BLACK connect to - MINUS / ground of the car battery.
RED connect to 12 volts + PLUS of the car battery.
A reverse polarity leads to a blowing of the fuse, which is installed in the cable, or even damages the device.
Install the cable as far as away as possible from aggregates which can cause interference. Is is advisable to
connect the device directly to the vehicle's battery.
The connection to the power supply circuit in the vehicle should be carried out by an expert who is
familiar with the relevant regulations and dangers.
After microphone, antenna and power source have been correctly connected, radio operation can be undertaken.

Radio operation

1. Switching On [ VOL / OFF ]
Before switching ON set the squelch control ( 15 ) [ SQ / ASQ ] to the counterclockwise stop but without activating the internal
switch. The device is switched ON by turning the volume control ( 17 ) [ VOL / OFF ] clockwise to the centre position. The
channel number 9 ( 11 ) in FM mode is shown at the LC-display and the LCD backlight is illuminated. Adjust the receiver noise
with the volume control to the desired level.
2. Squelch [ SQ / ASQ ]
By turning the squelch control ( 15 ) [ SQ / ASQ ] slowly clockwise, the back ground noise can be suppressed. The squelch
control should only be turned up enough to stop the background noise on an unused channel. Turning the control further
clockwise will increasingly suppress interfering signals as well as weak stations. The automatic squelch [ ASQ ] can be
activated by turning the squelch control counterclockwise until the control clicks and the normal squelch function is switched
off.
3. Channel Selection [▲▼]
All channels can be selected by pushing the channel selector keys ( 4 ) [
the rotary channel selector ( 9 ), to the desired channel. The channel number will be displayed in the LCD window ( 11 ). For
communication with a partner CB station, both transceivers must be adjusted to the same channel and the same modulation
type.
4. Selection of the norm
i). Switch off the transmitter set.
ii). Press and hold button (13) "C9" when switching on the transmitter set.

iii). The display switches into the country selection screen. You can choose between options 1, 2, and 3.
1 represents the 80 FM / 40 AM channel mode
2 represents the 40 FM / 40 AM channel mode
3 represents the 40 FM channel mode
Refer to the unit's passport for information about the permissions and restrictions for the use of the different versions in the
different countries.
5. Mode selection [ MD ] within the different norms
The norms 8012 and 4040 dispose each of the two modulation types AM and FM. By switching the set on after the power
source was disrupted, the first channel is always channel 9 with FM modulation, which is indicated by the LCD symbol ( 20
) [ FM ]. By pressing the key ( 18 ) [ MD ] you can switch the unit to AM modulation. The selected AM mode will be indicated
by the LCD symbol ( 20 ) [ AM ]. The unit stores the last channel with its modulation after switching off, as long as the power
source remains connected. The norm " 4000 " disposes of a receiving tone selection. By switching the set on after the power
source was disrupted, the first channel is always channel 9 with a mellow reception tone, which is indicated by the LCD
symbol ( 7 ) [ LO ]. By pressing the key ( 18 ) [ MD ] you can switch the unit to a bright sound in the loudspeaker. With a bright
sound the display shows the symbol ( 7 ) [ HI ]. The unit stores the last channel with its reception tone setting after switching
off, as long as the power source remains connected.
6. Transmitting [ PTT ]
To transmit depress and hold the key ( 3 ) [ PTT ]. At he LCD the TX symbol ( 12 ) is indicated. The sensitivity of the microphone
( 1 ) has been set to give good results speaking normally at a distance of 2 - 4 inches. Speaking too loudly will cause
distortions and make the signal difficult to understand. While the set is in the transmit mode there is no key entry possible and
the receiver is muted. On completion of the transmission release the PTT key and the set will revert to receiving mode.
7. Channel scanning [ SC ]
If this function is active, the unit looks for occupied channels. As this function does not work with unmuted receiver, set the
squelch control ( 15 ) [ SQ / ASQ ] according to para " 2 " before activating the scan function. Depress the key ( 16 ) [ SC ]
to start the channel scan. Now the channels are stepping upwards and the scan symbol ( 6 ) [ SC ] appears on the LCD. The
scan function stops on the next channel on which a signal opens the squelch. It is terminated now.
8. Channel 9 selection [ C9 ]
In the norms 8012, 4040 and 4000 the channel 9 can be quickly selected as priority channel. To call up the channel 9 as
priority channel depress the key ( 13 ) [ C9 ]. The display will show the number of the priority channel flashing and all entries
of function keys including the rotary channel selector are ignored. Only transmission is possible. If you depress the key ( 13 )
[ C9 ] once again the unit returns to the previous selected channel and all controls are active again.
9. Dual watch function [ DW ]
This function allows you to watch activity on two channels at a time. Before activating this function make sure that the
squelch is closed on free channels. First select the first survey channel. by means of the rotary channel switch ( 9 ) or the
Up/Down keys ( 5 ) and ( 4 ) on the microphone. Then depress briefly the key ( 14 ) [ DW ] so that the dual watch symbol ( 21
) [DW] flashes in the LCD window. Now select the second survey channel by means of the rotary channel ( 9 ) switch or the
Up/Down keys ( 5 ) and ( 4 ) on the microphone. Then depress briefly the key ( 14 ) [ DW ] once again so that the dual watch
symbol ( 21 ) [ DW ] appears constantly now. Make sure that these entries are made within 4 seconds, otherwise the DW
function will be aborted, which will be indicated by the disappearing of the dual watch symbol ( 21 ) [ DW ] in the display. If on
none of both survey channels is received any signal, the unit will step from one channel to the other two times every second.
If on one of these channels is received a signal, which opens the squelch, the unit will remain on it until the channel is free
again. 7 seconds later the unit will continue stepping from one channel to the other like before. If you press briefly the key (
14 ) [ DW ] another time, the dual watch symbol ( 21 ) [ DW ] will flash again in the LCD window. Now you can select another
second survey channel by means of the rotary channel switch ( 9 ) or the Up/Down keys ( 5 ) and ( 4 ) on the microphone. That
channel, on which the unit was while the key ( 14 ) [ DW ] is pressed, is the first survey channel now. To deactivate the dual
watch function and to stay on the actual channel, depress twice briefly the key ( 14 ) [ DW ], any other key of an active function
