These instructions are a supplement to
the illustration attached to the tool box
lid.
This replacement tool enables the ex-
change of valve inserts on valves type
RA 2000, according to the list on next
page.
It is a precondition for being able to
exchange a valve insert that the moving
parts of the valve insert are not "seized"
in the valve. Before exchanging with the
use of this tool, it should always be
checked whether the valve cone is able
to open (releases the valve seat). In the
case of pre-setting valves (RA-N and
RA-U), it should be checked if the pre-
setting ring can be turned. If that is not
the case, the installation must be
drained before making the exchange. In
this case, the lock cannot be applied.
Normal protective measures against
leaking water drops are to be taken.
The exchange – step by step:
1) Remove stuffing box and replace by
connector. Only fasten hexagon finger-
tight.
2) Loosen the valve insert somewhat by
means of the accompanying mounting
nut.
3)
RA 2000 without locking ring: Push the
locking element for RA 2000 until it rests
on the valve housing neck and fasten it
by means of the Allen key. Insert bush-
ing and seal (check that bushing and
seal seats are correctly positioned).
RA 2000 with locking ring: Tighten the
locking element for RA 2000 by using
two pins round the valve.
Apply the holding tool to the outside
thread of the locking element and finger-
tighten it; possibly use a sickle spanner.
Push the spindle until it meshes with the
connector. Turn the spindle lever to the
left (anti-clockwise).
Note: Go on turning the spindle until the
thread of the valve insert is certain to be

free. When unscrewing the spindle,
push forward in order to compensate for
the installation pressure.
4) Pull the spindle with the unscrewed
valve insert backwards.
5) Close the tool ball valve and unscrew
the spindle with the valve insert.
When the ball valve is opened, dirty
elements can be rinsed away; possibly
while turning the valve downwards (with
pipe elbow).
6) Pull the dismounted valve insert off
the spindle and separate it from the
connector.
7) Fit a new valve insert to the connec-
tor. Only fasten hexagon fingertight.
8) Fit the spindle with the new valve
insert in the tool.
9) Open the ball valve and push the
spindle forwards. Press the spindle for-
wards and turn the valve insert to the
right (clockwise) to the stop point in
order to make it rest in the housing.
10) Note: Open the air-bleed screw on
the tool – after a few seconds, the water
will stop flowing. If water is still flowing,
the insertion procedure must be re-
peated, because in this case the valve
insert has not been fastened correctly in
the housing.
11) Remove the replacement tool and
fasten the valve insert.

12) Remove the connector and fit a new
stuffing box - 10 Nm (approx. ¼ turn
after finger-fastening).
Note: The force with which the spindle
holds the connector can be adjusted by
turning the adjusting screw in the spin-
dle.
Be sure that the holding force of the
spindle has not been set too low.

Diese Instruktion ist eine Ergänzung der
in den Werkzeugkofferdeckel eingekleb-
ten Bildinstruktion.
Mit diesem Demontagewerkzeug kön-
nen die Ventileinsätze von allen Ventilen
Typ RA 2000 nach der Liste nächster
Seite ausgewechselt werden.
Die Voraussetzung für das Auswechseln
eines Ventileinsatzes ist, dass die be-
weglichen Teile des Ventileinsatzes
nicht im Ventil „verklemmt" sind. Vor
dem Auswechseln mit diesem Werkzeug
sollte immer untersucht werden, ob der
Ventilkegel öffnen kann (den Ventilsitz
freigibt). Bei voreinstellbaren Ventilen
(RA-N und RA-U) prüfen, ob der Vorein-
stellring gedreht werden kann. Falls
nicht, muss die Anlage vor dem Aus-
wechseln entleert werden. In diesem
Fall kann die Schleuse nicht eingesetzt
werden.
Die Üblichen Sicherheitsmassnahmen
gegen austretende Wassertropfen sind
zu treffen.
Auswechseln Punkt für Punkt:
1) Stopfbuchsen demontieren und durch
Kupplungsteil ersetzen. Den Sechskant
nur handfest anziehen.
2) Ventileinsatz mit beiliegender
Montagemutter etwas lösen.
3)
35 Nm RA 2000 ohne Verdrehsicherung: Halte-
10 Nm teil für RA 2000 bis zum Anschlag auf
den Ventilgehäusehals schieben und mit
Inbusschlüssel befestigen. Buchse und
Dichtung achten).
RA 2000 mit Verdrehsicherung: Halteteil
für RA 2000 mit zwei Bolzen um das
Ventil spannen.
Das Werkzeug auf das Außengewinde
des Halteteils schrauben und von Hand
anziehen, eventuell mit Hakenschlüssel
nachziehen.
Die Spindel mit dem Kupplungsteil in
Eingriff schieben. Den Handgriff der
Spindel nach links drehen (gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn).
