Functions and features

With the fibre-optic fitted, the sensor detects objects and materials
without contact and indicates their presence by a switching signal.
• range as through-beam sensor up to 300mm
• range as diffuse reflection sensor up to 70mm (referred to white
paper 200mmx200mm).

Electrical connection

Disconnect power, then connect the unit (see page 8 or type
label).
Note: insert a miniature fuse according to the technical data sheet, if specified.
Recommendation: check the unit for reliable function after a short cirucit.
Loosen the screw (1) and remove
the black end cap (2).
If you use the fibre-optic amplifier
• as through-beam sensor in the
dark-on mode
or
• as diffuse reflection sensor in
the dark-on mode
you will have to cut the wire link
(3).
If you use the fibre-optic amplifier
• as through-beam sensor in the
light-on mode
or
• as diffuse reflection sensor in
the light-on mode
the wire link (3) remains intact.
