5-6. Built-in reference point

1 A mono-directional reference point has been adopted as
the optical-type built-in reference point for the Laserscale
scale unit. Accordingly, reference point detection should
be performed with the relative traveling directions of the
scale and slider as shown in the diagram below. (Performing
reference point detection in the reverse direction will lower
the reference point accuracy.)
For standard specifications
2 Reference point detection locations for standard
specifications are engraved at a 50 mm pitch to the left and
right of the center of the scale measuring length. Refer to
P28 regarding reference point positions for each
measuring length.
3 Reference points can be detected using a decelaration
dog or by masking unnecessary reference points with the
provided reference point masking labels.
