Getting Started
Please note that, depending on the vehicle, the ignition has to be turned on before
the operating voltage is available at the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
Plug the cigarette lighter plug on the charger cable into a suitable cigarette lighter socket in the
vehicle (vehicle voltage 12 - 24 V/DC).
When there is an operating voltage available, a blue LED lights up on the top of the cigarette
lighter plug.
Before plugging or unplugging the charger cable's cigarette lighter plug into/out of
the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket, disconnect all devices connected to the charg-
ing output or the USB socket.
Plugging/unplugging can cause voltage spikes, which might damage the connected
mobile phone or USB device.
a) Charging function for mobile phone
The charging output (jack on the cable end) provides a voltage of 5 V/DC and a maximum
output current of 1 A.
Only connect your mobile phone for charging, if it has an input voltage of 5 V/DC.
Connect the jack on the cable end to the adaptor suitable for your mobile phone and then con-
nect to the mobile phone.
Your mobile phone should now start to charge.
After a completed the charging process, disconnect the mobile phone from the charger cable,
unplug the charger cables' cigarette lighter plug from the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.

see illustration on the right. Underneath, there is a USB socket,
type A ,which can be used for powering or charging a USB device.
Version 07/11
The USB socket supplies an output voltage of 5 V/DC and a maxi-
mum current of 1 A.
After the charging is completed (or, if you no longer need the power
supply for the USB device), remove the USB plug from the cigarette
lighter plug's USB socket.
Disconnect the charger cable's cigarette lighter plug from the vehi-
cle's cigarette lighter socket.
Tips and Notes
• If the operating voltage for your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is not deactivated when the
ignition key is removed, disconnect the charger cable from the vehicle. To do this, unplug
the cigarette lighter plug from the cigarette lighter socket to avoid unnecessary loads on the
vehicle's battery.
• The charging electronics are integrated in the mobile phone or USB device. For the charging
process, please consult the operating instructions for the mobile phone or USB device.
• The charging output for the enclosed adaptors and the USB socket can be used simultane-
ously. An output voltage of 5 V/DC and an output current of 1 A are available.
