Operational safety instructions for the
plunge saw
a) When performing 'plunge cuts' at an angle, ensure the base plate of the
saw is secure and cannot slide sideways, for example with the aid of the
parallel guide. Sliding can cause the saw blade to jam causing kickback.
b) Do not place the saw on a work bench or on the floor unless the saw
blade is covered by the protective guard. An unprotected, coasting blade
will cause the saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Note how
long the blade takes to stop rotating after the biscuit jointer has been switched
off.
