Protection
Reverse polarity protection
Protects the output from sparking in the event of unintentional lyant connection or short
circuit. Makes the charger safer when used in the environment of batteries.

Short-circuit protection

Short-circuit connection of the terminals: Make sure that the terminals do not touch OR check
that the terminals are properly connected to the battery.
Protection in case of missing battery connection
If the battery charger is not connected to a battery, it is placed in a protective state.
Shutdown protection (defective battery)
The charger has gone into power-saving mode. This happens if the charger has not been
connected to the battery within two minutes.
Surge protection
• The 12V charger uses an automatic protection function when the voltage is more than
17.5V.
• The 24V charger uses an automatic protection function when the voltage is more than
35V.

Overheat protection

The overheat protection reacts as soon as the internal temperature of the device is above
65°C +/-5°C.
Cooling fan
The charger is equipped with a thermostatic-controlled blower that cools the avionics and
maintains charging power. The cooling fan turns on automatically when the battery is
supplied with a high charge or when sufficient heat forms.
