DESCRIPTION
The VMBUSBIP is a Velbus configuration module with USB- and IP-interface. It serves as
a USB- and IP-gateway to Velbus. For the complete list of features, specs and additional

COMPONENTS OF THE MODULE
1. I/O USB 2.0: not in use
2. LAN: Ethernet connection
3. RUN and ACT LEDs: indication of status and errors. In normal operation the RUN LED
is continuously on, and the ACT LED shows a heartbeat (2 flashes, off, etc.)
4. CAN bus terminator*
5. RESET button (called DIS on some models): down in normal operation. Slide up to
disconnect the module from the power supply (hardware reset).
6. RMT (Remote): not in use
7. USB-B port: for USB connection with a PC, e.g. for the configuration software
VelbusLink. (Not in use under normal circumstances, as all communication can pass
over the LAN.)
8. PS LED: Power Supply, continuously on in normal operation*
9. Rx and Tx LEDs: flicker when there is bus communication*
10. BUS connector: connection with the Velbus bus cable (incl. power supply 15V +/- 3V
DC)

CONNECTION
Connect the VMBUSBIP to the Velbus installation via the BUS connector, and to the local
network via the LAN connector. Wait until the RUN LED is continuously on, and the ACT
LED shows a heartbeat (2 blinks, off, etc.). This can take up to 3 minutes during startup.
Once the VMBUSBIP has started up correctly, it can be used to establish a connection
over IP between the Velbus installation and the configuration software VelbusLink on PC
(more information on www.velbus.eu). To do so, make sure the PC is connected to the
same LAN as the VMBUSBIP, open VelbusLink, press "Connect", and follow the
instructions for connecting with a VMBUSBIP. It is advisable to assign a valid address
(different from 0 or 255/FF) to the VMBUSBIP in VelbusLink.
For additional settings, surf in a browser to the IP-address of the VMBUSBIP (this can be
found using VelbusLink, see above). The default password is 316RWO9n.

BESCHREIBUNG
VMBUSBIP ist ein Velbus-Konfigurationsmodul mit USB- und IP-Schnittstelle. Das Modul
funktioniert als eine USB- und IP-Verbindung zu Velbus. Alle Eigenschaften, technischen

ANSCHLUSS
Verbinden Sie das VMBUSBIP über den Bus-Anschluss mit dem Velbus-System und über
das LAN-Anschluss mit dem lokalen Netz. Warten Sie, bis die RUN-LED ständig leuchtet,
und die ACT-LED blinkt (2 x blinken, aus usw.). Dies kann bis zu 3 Minuten dauern.
Nach dem korrekten Starten kann das VMBUSBIP verwendet werden, um eine
Verbindung über IP zwischen dem Velbus-System und der Konfigurationssoftware
VelbusLink am PC herzustellen (Für weitere Informationen, siehe www.velbus.eu).
Bemerkung: Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Rechner mit demselben LAN-Anschluss als
VMBUSBIP verbunden ist. Öffnen Sie VelbusLink, drücken Sie "Connect", und folgen Sie
den Hinweisen zur Verbindung mit einem VMBUSBIP. Weisen Sie dem VMBUSBIP eine
gültige Adresse (anders als 0 oder 255/FF) zu.
Für weitere Einstellungen, geben Sie im Browser die IP-Adresse vom VMBUSBIP ein (siehe
