Electrical System for Towing Hitch
Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the spare wheel.
3. If necessary, remove the following coverings and panels:

In the luggage trunk
Covering of luggage trunk bottom
-
Covering of the rear end plate
-
Covering of the right and left tail light
-
Covering of the left side of the luggage trunk if necessary

4. Puncture the pre-punched cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/2) with a suitable tool and deburr it.
5. Slip the rubber grommet on the cable harness and adapt its length to the cable.
6. Starting in the luggage trunk, lead the cable end through the cable leadthrough to the outside
up to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/5).
7. Insert the rubber grommet into the cable leadthrough (Fig. 1/2).
Installing the socket
8. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/5) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
9. Screw the socket onto the holding plate (Fig. 1/5) using the supplied screws and nuts.
10. Secure the cable harness using cable ties.
Connecting the tail lights
11. Lead the connector assembly with the gray/red cable to the right-hand tail light (Fig. 1/7).
12. Unplug the plug of the right-hand tail light and connect it to its counterpart on the cable
harness. Plug the residual plug back into the tail light. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into
place.
13. Secure the cable on the rear end plate.
14. Lead the connector assembly with the gray/black cable to the left-hand tail light (Fig. 1/4).
15. Unplug the plug of the left-hand tail light and connect it to its counterpart on the cable
harness. Plug the residual plug back into the tail light. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into
place.
