Tennis elbow
So-called tennis elbow is an inflam-
mation of the elbow joint. In many
instances, this chronic sprain is ac-
companied by an inflammation of the
articular capsule and/or of the syno-
vial bursa, bone membrane (perioste-

um), tendons and muscles. Treat as
shown in Figures 4, 4a and 4b, keeping
mainly to the muscular tissue and
avoiding close proximity to the bone,
where it is otherwise possible to ag-

gravate the bone membrane.
Lumbago and Sciatica
Distinctive symptoms of lumbago are sudden, shooting
pains in the lower back or lumbar (for treatment see Fig.
5). Different from lumbago, the symptoms of sciatica
mainly include a contracting pain radiating from the
lumbar region over the buttocks into the left or right
leg. Invariably, acute sciatica belongs in the hands of
a physician, then there are types which make a quick
operation unavoidable. Once the acute inflammation has

subsided, the NOVAFON® instrument can be used. Treat
the lumbar region of the spine along with the affected
leg using rapid, circular movements.
Knee injuries
When treating strained or overstretched ligaments
connecting and supporting the knee joint on the inner
leg, proceed with the NOVAFON® instrument adopting
either stroking or circular movements to and fro along
the lines depicted in Fig. 6.

Bronchitis
With bronchitis especially, the NOVA-
FON® instrument has a dual benefit.
Firstly, those respiratory muscles that
are normally subject to cramp are re-
laxed. Secondly, the vibrations ente-
ring the lungs via the ribcage act like a
thumping massage thus freeing conge-
sted phlegm. Work the NOVAFON® in-

strument 'step fashion' in arch-shaped
movements from the spine towards the sternum and back again. Follow the
corresponding intercostal space whilst doing so. The treatment should last at
least 5 minutes and be targeted towards the amount of phlegm exporated. In
the case of deep-seated phlegm, the treatment is to be repeated after 3 to 4
hours. Treatment should not exceed 15 minutes in order to prevent overexer-
tion.
