The fact that the towing bracket has been mounted to the vehicle must be entered in the
vehicle papers at the next possible opportunity. The mounting instructions must be added to
the vehicle papers.
General Installation Intructions:
If present, remove insulating compound and/or underseal in the area of the towing bracket
contact surfaces. Coat bare bodywork with anti-corrosion paint.
Mount 7-pin electrical system as per DINV 72570.
Mount 13-pin electrical system as per ISO 11446.
Retighten all mounting bolts of the towing bracket after aprox. 1000 towing km. Please note,
that after mounting the drawbar the mass of your vehicle will change.
Mounting instructions:
Lift the cover of the plate of the boot and take out the plugs from the opening above the
–
spreader of the chassis on the right and left side.
Put the screwed plate (5) into the spreader through the opening by means of putting the
–
screw through hole „a". In order to make the putting-in of the screwed plate (5) easier,
bend its nose part. Loosely fix the accessory plates (2, 3) at point „a" from downside by
means of the disk ∅10,5x30x3 and nut M10. Dismantle the spare wheel.
Loosely fix the body of the drawhook (1) at points „b" to the bottom of the car by means of
–
screw M10x40, spring washer ∅10,5 mm and disks ∅10,5x30x3. Place one of the disks
∅10,5x30x3 between the body of the drawhook (1) and the car as distance holder.
With the distance holder plates (4), fill the gap between the body of the drawhook (1) and
–
the car at points on the left and right side. At point „c" loosely screw the accesory plates
(2, 3) and the body of the drawhook (1) together, by means of the screws M12x60, disks
size ∅12,5x30x3 mm and nut M12.
Slide the ball of the drawhook in between the ball holder plates and fix it through points
–
„d" by means of the screws M12x90, disks size ∅12,5 mm and self-locking nuts M12.
This is, when the mounting plate of the socket is to be fixed to hole „6", too. Adjust the
drawhook and fasten the screws.
Re-install the spare wheel. Place the plugs back into the openings above the spreader,
–
then match the cover of the plate of the boot back into its place.
By means of opening the rear cable bundle, complete the electrical connections according
–
to the regulations.
Only specialised services are authorised to install drawhooks.
